Awww!! Wonderful ending, Wendy and Kae! Loved how Clark realized that Lois loved the Clarkness in Superman and that she had been seeing the real him all along in Superman. And so nothing could have prepared her for the reality of his kiss. He held her close without crushing her to his chest; his hands held her waist beneath her coat, his fingers tracing light patterns through her blouse that sent shivers up her spine and made her arch against him. His lips had captured hers tentatively, a reminder of her dreams about Clark, but when she didn't pull away, his response was immediate, and she felt swept into the whirlwind of the passion overtaking them. Great smoochie!! Can't wait to see what you ladies cook up next!!

Finally, Lois doesn't have to choose. Clark was sensible enough to accept what Lois appreciates his Clark qualities in Superman Lovely ending!

Ahh... that was nice Almost too nice; where did they get this sudden infusion of intelligence? <g> Lois had some good points about Clark and Superman, and I guess it startled me a little bit that she got there that fast -- but then, I wasn't privy to all of her thought processes. See, the problem was that there wasn't enough introspection Fabulous smoochie, though. PJ

Very nicely put, ladies.
I've always liked the concept of Clark in Superman and Superman in Clark -- the part/whole of his character.

It's nice seeing how Clark's anger didn't override his concern over Lois' well-being. He calmed down considerably when he saw she wasn't in any shape to drive. Seeing her so distraught made him more likely to believe her. She wouldn't be so upset if she was only playing games with his emotions. So good reason for the transition from anger to acceptance! The revelation seemed a little vague. Lois must have really been on the ball to go from "I was there" when he could simply have been hiding somewhere nearby to "Clark is Superman." On the ball is something she usually isn't when it pertains to her personal life, especially when in a distraught state of mind. So I kept waiting for additional hints.

Very nice understated revelation. I'm glad that Lois was focusing so much on her personal dilemma that she didn't think much about being angry, and that Clark had enough sense to keep her from leaving. If he'd used his head that well in the series, Lois never would have been duped by Luthor into accepting his proposal in the first place.

Awwwwwwww! How sweet! Great ending, Wendy and Kaethel.
The scene with the missing keys is nice. But I still wonder how Clark got them. Can very well be I don't remember it from an earlier part. But Clark's reaction is great. Good to see him back as the good friend instead of the hurt man.
And yay!!!!!! Smoochies!!!!!

Re. the keys, Saskia, I had it in mind that she'd set them down somewhere after she arrived, and he just saw them and picked them up - or maybe they fell out of her pocket. You know, one of the million and one ways keys seem to go missing!

Great ending! I love how Lois realizes that what she fell in love with in Superman are all of Clark's personality traits. Like Shadow said, a story that reveals that Lex is a crook, has a revalation, and ends with a smoochie is definately a great story . - Alicia

They'd stepped up and said the scary words. They'd managed to get over the hurt and the suspicion and focused on the important thing: their friendship. And through that they'd found something even better.
Love. Awwwwwwwwww, so sweet! And they lived happily ever after! This was really nice! ~Liz
Lois: Can I go? Clark: No. Lois: Oh come on, Clark, why do we go through this? We both know I’m going to go. Clark: Then why do you ask? Lois: I’m trying to be nice.

Reading all three parts at once (well, ok, rereading part 1, but I'm glad I did because I liked it even better the second time ) ... Nice story, you two. I think you did a great job of showing Clark's hurt over what Lois said and his reactions to her later confessions (about her feelings for him, but also her feelings for Lex, etc.), and I especially liked how Lois came to realize how she'd been playing games with him. Her recognition of her pattern -- wanting him, needing him, wanting him to need her ... then dismissing him -- was excellent and very insightful. And I *loved* Clark's reaction to Lois's confession of love -- "You're right, I don't believe you" and telling her to leave? Oh, swoon! Saint Clark was threatening to show his face before (when he said she could talk to him about Luthor) but he was quickly banished. Woo hoo. <vbg> The only parts I thought might need a little smoothing out (IMO, of course; you may not agree) were in the revelation (as someone above said, I kept waiting for him to say more, or for Lois to say more -- it just seemed way too easy) and in how quickly Clark seemed to change from being hurt to laughing ("no wonder my mom likes you"). Not that I didn't appreciate them getting past their arguments, mind you. <g> I just thought it seemed a little abrupt in those two parts. But what I did really appreciate is how they didn't go right from arguing to "happily ever after". I was getting a little nervous as I got close to the end of the story and they were still upset; I was worried you were going to try to tie everything up in a neat little bow in too short a time and it wouldn't be realistic. But leaving them where they were -- acknowledging their feelings and agreeing to try dating -- was much more fitting. Thanks for posting it. I enjoyed reading it. Kathy

“You were there? I didn’t see you th... Oh... Oh. You’re... you were there. I... see. Clark, can I sit?” Don't ask me why, but as a revelation that had me Delightful for Lois to recognize, and visualize!, that it's the Clark in Superman that she loves. Well done on her part -- oh, yeah, and on your part, too. I personally get irritated when people quote people in casual conversation, because I don't find it casual. Clark never did it on the show. If it doesn't bother anyone else, ignore me. On the other hand... It’s going on for three in the morning. I never correct UK prose, but since this is Clark's dialogue, this sounded a bit off to me. "It's nearly 3 in the morning," or "almost 3 in the morning," would be a lot more American, I think. 'Course, I'm not the final arbiter, but you might want to ask for another opinion. Thanks for a nice one, you two! Hazel

Okay, that went pretty much as expected. Lots of emotional hand wringing and angst only to be rescued at the last minute by their overriding love and concern for each other. And, of course, the tender and waffy ending. I have to admit that a little evil part of me (I think some of Kaethel has rubbed off on me) considered that it would be pretty funny if Lois pulled a Clark and denied her feelings of love and just admitted to being best friends in order to save what she could of their relationship when the opportunity presented itself. It would have been somewhat, ironic? Tank (who thinks that any collaboration that Wendy has with another writer should only go into the other writer's column of number of fics... after all Wendy says she gets embarrassed when the large number of excellant fics she produces is mentioned )

This was beautiful, and the kiss at the end was awesome, definitely worth waiting for. Very subtle revelation. Very nice. But I must admit, that I almost missed it myself (reading too quickly, I guess), so I'm most impressed that Lois "got it" in her state of mind. Others have commented on the change in emotional shift. I could see Clark digesting the truth in Lois' comments about the values of both CK and S, and acknowledging, with quiet humor, that his mother seems the same way. But what did jar me - slightly - was just a couple of paragraphs after... One long arm reached out and tugged her against him. “I’ll be the judge of that, Lois,” her best friend’s familiar teasing, affectionate voice told her. Clark seems to have gotten past a lot of the hurt and anger already. (Saint Clark, anyone? I certainly stay angry longer than that...) I can see him sounding affectionate, but "teasing" didn't seem quite right for me at this point. But it was lovely, and did I mention that I loved the kiss at the end? Oh right, I did. Well, it doesn't hurt to say it twice, because it was a lovely ending. Thanks so much for the wonderful story. KathyM
