“Oooo. Lots of fan mail.”
“Really, what do they say, honey?”
“Hmm, they say they love my stuff,” she said, grinning.
“Who doesn't love your stuff, babe?”
“I don't know. Many people are not very fond of my work.”
“What? That's absurd! What's there not to love about your writing?”
“Well, not everybody thinks my style is worth reading,” she teased for more compliments.
“They have to, honey. This is Mad Dog Lane they are talking about.”
“Awww… honey, thanks.”
“You´re very welcome.”
A kiss.
“Why do you love me?” she asked.
“Because you´re my mad dog.”
“Oh, honey, you must be a psycho,” she giggled.
“Why do you say that?”
“´Cuz nobody takes my grouchy moods like you do.”
“Honey, you´re all right. Especially when you´re writing.”
“Oh yeah? Well, there´s something I need before I write anything else,” she winked.
“What is it?”
“My morning decaf coffee with artificial sweetener with nonfat milk, and my cinnamon donut please.”
“Lois, are you hungry, again???”
She giggled, shyly.
