In L&C we only see Lana in the alt-verse. Not a very nice Lana. In Smallville one rapidly comes to hate Lana Lang.

I find I like the Lana Lang who appears in a couple of episodes of "Superman - The Animated Series" and wondered if anyone recalls any L&C fanfic with a nice Lana Lang?

Terry Leatherwood has a Lana Lang who supports Clark in becoming Superman in his "Road Not Taken". I think that is the most sympathetic treatment of Lana you will ever find.

Actually, I take that back. Lana probably comes off even better in some ways in "The Man Under the Suite". Although since she is married before the story begins (not to Clark) she is never refered to as Lana Lang, but by here married name.

However on the whole I think Lana seems worse in fan fic than she did in Lois and Clark itself.

The Lana in L's Long, Strange Trip is also quite friendly to Lois.

In KenJ's Matchmaker Chronicles, alt-Lana isn't evil or vindictive and becomes one of Lois and Clark's best friends.

In StopQuitDont's Double Jeopardy Lana isn't evil. Clark considers her a great friend (despite being ex-lover) and Lois tolerates her because of Clark.

And in Reversal of Fortune by LaraMoon Lana works for Clark (and is his friend) and becomes a great friend to Lois, too.

I never trusted that Lana and I always felt she was a bad seed. Maybe it had to do with her father, maybe not. She always said and did things in such a suspicious manner. There are things you can forgive in life, but what the Langs did to Lois was unforgivable and was reason enough to break any relationship with the family. Clark should have seen that and sided with Lois. That wasn't a relationship she should ever have been forced to "tolerate". <<And don't get me started on Mayson!>>

There's a story in which Lois goes undercover as a high school student. Clark is her English teacher. Lana only appears as his dead wife, but the students remember her fondly.

if anyone remembers the name, I'd like to retread it.

This *is* my happily ever after.
