Congratulations! Those look like excellent scores! Um . . . what exactly is this diploma? Is this a single class that you passed, or like a high school diploma . . . ?

what exactly is this diploma? In each country, there are universities or other organizations that organize examinations for students from other countries that study their language. I'm not a bureaucracy type, and I may have confused things a little but, to my knowledge, the Universities of Salamanca and Santander with the assistance of Cervantes Institute are the ones that organize the Spanish language examinations. I'm taking Salamanca's ones, which has three levels. Certificado Inicial de Español, Diploma Básico de Español and Diploma Superior de Español. D.B.E. proves efficiency to talk and write about quite difficult subjects, keep up a social conversation... efficiency to write fics in Spanish too, as José assures me It's somewhere between Caimbridge's Lower and Advanced exams (sorry I don't know their official names). Just a bit of info for everyone who wants it, AnnaBtG.

Ahhh! Thank you for the explanation, Anna. So how many languages do you speak? I'm always so impressed by people who can speak multiple languages fluently!

So how many languages do you speak? Greek , English (I'm waiting for First Certificate's of English aka Lower's results), Spanish (D.B.E.), French (not as good as the two previously mentioned, but three hours a week at school for the last three years are slowly working their way up ) and I've also bought a Linguaphone method to learn Russian! (I've finished the basics, but there's much to go) AnnaBtG. P.S.: I can also count from one to ten in German, Turkish and Albanian

Well, I'm still not certain what it is, exactly, except that it seems to be a good thing that you worked hard for. So, YAY! Wow, I admire anyone who can speak that many languages -- I tried learning French but it didn't quite take... PJ who can also count to ten in German, but not much more

¡Felicitaciones! You have every reason to be proud of your accomplishment! I have a deep admiration for all the multilingual people of the world. - Vicki PS - something interesting I found on internet quoted from Jan. 1996 "The Almanac Online" - got to give credit here : When Charles Berlitz, of Berlitz Publishing and what is now known as the Berlitz Language Center, was a small boy, his father spoke to him in English, his mother in French, his grandfather in German, and his aunts and cousins in Spanish--and he learned to converse with everyone. All the same, imagine little Charles's relief, on his first day of school, when he realized that he wasn't going to have to learn a new language to communicate with each of the other children in his class. He was also, according to later reports, surprised and saddened to discover that most of those other children spoke nothing but English.

Congrats, Anna! Languages are a hard thing to learn.. and to keep straight when you have a few in your head!

Congrats, Anna - well done! Pelican
Such a little thing really, a kiss...most people don't give it a moment's consideration. They kiss on meeting, they kiss on parting, that simple touching of flesh is taken entirely for granted as a basic human right.

...and welcome to the polyglot Club (I guess you know what I mean) Yes I know! Sunny, ya he visitado España, pero no he ido a Mallorca, ¡y claro que quiero visitarte algun día! Bueno... veremos... (Sunny, I've already visited Spain, but I haven't been to Majorca, and I certainly want to visit you some day! Well... we'll see... ) Even if some of them haven't quite understood what it is, it's good to know that FoLCs are happy for you too! Thank you!! Ana the Spanish Speaker (LOL)
