This idea was stolen from another board, so I'm not going to pretend to take credit.

It works something like this---I will post a wish, and someone else comes in and grants it, but qualifies it in the extreme (pretty much corrupting it), and then they get to post a wish. (may or may not have a L&C theme). some examples:

I wish I had a harley davidson motorcycle.

Granted. But your first trip out results in a speeding ticket of such magnitude that you end up having to sell the bike to pay the ticket.

or

I wish all the leaves in my yard were already raked.

Done. But all the kids in the neighborhood spot this 7-foot-tall, perfectly shaped pile of leaves, and they all come to your house and have a great time jumping in it, and you end up in the kitchen all afternoon making apple cider and gingerbread cookies in order to feed this hoarde, and at the end of the day, the leaves are all over the yard again.

wink might even get a fanfic challenge on this! and ix-nay on the wishing for more wishes.

I'll start.

I wish I had a new car, all paid for and everything.

Granted. You receive a Hot Wheels El Camino. Only a few bucks at Toys R Us.

I wish my laundry was nicely folded and put away in my dressers.

Granted. It was. At some point. Probably last year.

I wish I had high-speed wireless internet access here in this apartment (located off the coast of Florida).

Granted. But your computer gets attacked by a vicious virus two seconds later.

I wish for a fantastic, relaxing beauty day at the spa!

Granted. But when you get home, you find out that your roommate took advantage of your absence to throw a party and then left town for the weekend, so you have to clean up the mess on your own.

I wish it was sunny outside.

See ya,

Granted, oh great master vampire.......

I wish I had Superman's powers plus an immunity to Kryptonite, and no supervillians to deal with....

Granted. But it's the year 2342, and you've outlived all of human existence. wink

I wish could win the lottery.

Granted. You spend/give all of your lottery money only to find out it was a mistake and the bank wants it back ASAP.

I wish...hmm oh I've got one. I wish I wasn't single anymore. :p

Granted. But the man you marry decides in 6 months that he'd rather be a Betty than a Barry.

I wish I could never get a speeding ticket, no matter how fast I wanted to drive.

Granted! It's too bad the Disneyland Autopia cars you're allowed to drive are stuck on that annoying bar in the middle of the track. And please, tell that six year old in the car ahead of you to press down on the gas pedal!

I wish that my two year old son will successfully complete his ring bearer duties at my brother's wedding this Saturday while keeping his new suit, tie, and shoes clean until after the formal pictures.

You can find my stories as Groobie on the nfic archives and Susan Young on the gfic archives. In other words, you know me as Groobie. wink

Granted! It's just too bad that he saw those superhero pictures lying around and decided to take off the suit, tie, and shoes. At least he left them somewhere where they'd be clean while he went off to perform his duties in his brightly colored underwear!

I wish I could get on a reasonable and reliable sleep schedule, and stick with it.

Granted! But it's between 6pm and 2am, and there's no-one else awake when you are. wink

I wish... I had a cleaning service. goofy

Granted. But your cleaner is a Health and Safety freak. No ironing in case she gets burned. No cleaning windows in case she falls of a ladder. Etc. Plus she turns out to be allergic to manmade chemicals and electromagnetic fields. No using the vacuum cleaner, bleach, detergent...

Now...

I wish I could remember where I put my National Trust membership card.

Granted. It turns out that it was in your slacks pocket right before you did wash. Soggy card.

I wish it weren't quite so busy today at work.

Granted. But then management realises that they don't need quite so many staff after all, and cutbacks are planned... devil

I wish I didn't get so many fic ideas all at once... eek

Granted. The entire mess of fic ideas will now be compressed into a single story about a time traveller from another dimension who, while dealing with amnesia and trying to figure out how to save the world from a giant asteroid, ends up getting shot by a ressurected gangster just as his girlfriend tells him that she's going to marry his worst enemy, and on Christmas Eve, too! However will he manage to deal with everything and find time to visit Italy and France and Norway and Arizona and half a dozen other places, all without revealing his secrets?

I wish I could see my friends face to face more often.

I wish my husband was more interested in fanfic.

Granted. But he turns into UberEditor as he reads your stories, destroys your plots, tells you you need to change the characterisation and hands the file back to you once he's read it covered in red edits.

I wish...it was warm and dry enough to go for a walk this evening.

Athos: If you'd told us what you were doing, we might have been able to plan this properly.
Aramis: Yes, sorry.
Athos: No, no, by all means, let's keep things suicidal.

Granted. But then it gets so hot and humid that you wish it was cold and wet again.

I wish I could write faster and more fluently.

Granted. But this newly-created talent for fast and fluent writing only seems to manifest itself in management reports, of which you are asked to write more and more as you prove to be so adept at them.

I wish I could lose those ten pounds I still desperately need to let go of - without having to do any horrible exercise to get there! razz
