I wish I had a better set-up in this apartment so that I could move around and do what I need to do (such as checking email and posting to the boards) without having to constantly worry about waking everyone up.

Granted. The combination of padded walls, padded floors and the earplugs you persuade your housemates to use mean that they can't hear a thing you're doing.

Unfortunately, they can't hear themselves, either. They yell at each other to be understood. They also turn up their music so loud that it blows out their speakers... but not before all the neighbours call the police, reporting your household for noise offences.

Pretty hard to check email in the slammer, isn't it?

I wish that people who fail to inform unsuccessful interview candidates of the outcome of the selection process all lose their own jobs and have to go through the process themselves and realise how horrible it is...
