Sigh... why do I put myself through such torture? I took a deep breath and posted. Now I can only sit back and wait for your comments with sweaty palms.

Please be kind!

Hi

What can I say? I prefer Love stories but I read all kind of stories so here I am, posting comments and trying to be nice

I am kidding because I don´t have to "try" to be nice goofy your story is really good, I felt I was there, next to Lois and just watching her sorrow, It made me feel sorry for her, poor girl, and more because I know how she feels, how it feels...to be in the middle of a broken relationship, I felt all the pain so I can say that you made a great jog goofy

I love it

Aramis: Yes, sorry.
Athos: No, no, by all means, let's keep things suicidal.

No, it's not a happy story, but it's well-drawn with good characterization. From the height of one emotion to the depths of another. The snapshot of each character was just right. Give us a happier one soon, okay, Ursie? smile

Lois: You know the deal.
Clark: Superman gets the guys in capes, Lois and Clark get the guys in suits.

Oh, so poignant, Ursie! mecry

Poor, poor Lois! And Lucy! This is very sad, and also very well written. Excellent work!

(And the promise of no babies got me to read it too, Ursie, so that might be worth bearing in mind! wink )

Yep, what Hazel said: lovely snapshots of the various characters and emotions played out with a real, though sad, clarity. smile

LOL, Wendy! I'll certainly bear it in mind!

I'm so glad you liked this, and you too, Yvonne. Thank you for your wonderful words. They give this poor writer, who has to struggle with your language, aided by several dictionaries, the needed incentive to keep trying. smile1

Julia, I hope it wasn't too painful for you to read. I'm so sorry to hear that you can relate to that situation. Karla also mentioned that she knows how it feels to be in the middle of a broken relationship. frown

So I'm doubly grateful for your comments. I'm very pleased you like my writing. smile

That was very well written. I cannot say it better than some of the previous FOLCS, like Labrat.

Great vignette, Ursie! I'm honoured that you wanted to use the quote from Life's Lessons, too.

You really capture the pain of Lois's childhood in this; I could feel it.

I loved your description of Mr Belcanto, too. 'Slithered' indeed! smile

Looking forward to the next one...

Thanks for the feedback, SuperRoo and Rach. smile
I really appreciate hearing from you.

Chris, I'm the one who's honoured; I was truly touched by that quote. I wish I had come up with such a beautiful piece!

I was surprised to receive fdk through e-mail too; from a FoLC who tells me she had exactly the same experience as Lois when she was thirteen. Only worse: her father moved in with the neighbour! mecry

It was the most humiliating experience of her life and understandably, she didn't want to say all that in the fanfic folder.

This vignette seems to have triggered painful memories for some of our friends. I'm sorry about that. Unfortunately there are quite a few Loises among us. I guess that's why so many FoLC relate to her so well. sad
