So I really want to learn the song that's a duet with Celine Dion (and someone else) called I Believe in You. Some of the lyrics are in French and I was wondering if someone could tell me how to pronounce them phonetically (since I know zero French). I'll be forever in your debt!

I can't help 'cause I also know zero French. 'Sans regarder derrière' = without looking at your behind? Probably not. Behind you? More likely. I've just listened to it on youtube. Pretty song. Can't you just copy how she's singing it? Ps. The 'and someone' is Il Divo.

Phonetically? ouchie...
I could record them for you this evening so you can listen to it -- that would be a lot easier than trying to write this down... cause some sounds don't exist in English and it's pretty hard to find other sounds to match.
ETA: for the record, it should be "Si tu crois, si tu crois, si tu crois" and same for the other line that has it written as "croix"

Can't you just copy how she's singing it? I can kind of make the same sounds as her but I know if someone who speaks French heard me they would have no idea it was French. I could record them for you this evening so you can listen to it -- that would be a lot easier than trying to write this down... Don't put yourself out or anything. If it's too much trouble, don't worry about it really. It's not like I have to sing this in front of anyone. I just love to sing and wanted to be sure I was singing it right.

I just love to sing and wanted to be sure I was singing it right. Oh, it's no trouble at all, really. I'd do it here now, but I don't have the equipment. I think it would be easier if you heard the words anyway. And I'll try not to let my Canadian accent show.

That 'someone else' is Il Divo . Saw them in concert last year... And I love that song. Wendy

Sorry, kinda slipped my mind a little bit... I've been having back problems, so I've been heavily medicated the last few days (and I'm totally blaming it on the meds, yes I am!) I recorded the words - tried to pronounce them without too much of my Québec accent showing. *lol* And I read it the way it was written so hopefully you can tell what's what. Mind you, the way it's written up there, the sentences are chopped up and don't necessarily make sense - though I suppose it's sung that way... I wouldn't know; I really don't like Céline Dion - at all. Anyway... Here's the file. And don't you all laugh at me now. I'm posting this publicly against my better judgment... *lol* French lyrics, spoken.

Lara!!! You are tha bomb!! And doing that while your medicated and everything. That sucks about your back pain. And wow, your voice is awesome. It could be one of those voices on those 'Learn French in 30 days' tapes. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Maybe I'll post me singing it after I learn it. Ha! NOT!!!
