Hey all . DS is doing GREAT!!! All his tests came back normal [they thought they'd given us the third one]. Two weeks ago tomorrow, he was 18lb 2oz!! He goes in for his 15mo check next week. Check him out! A tale of two parties: The first one is Aug. 2 - while he was sick [at his own party ]. That was Sat. He was admitted the next Thurs. He was probably about 12lb 10-11oz in that picture. The second one is last Sat. Guessing 19-19.5lbs at the moment. Now he needs to start walking so I don't have to carry him everywhere! He's getting too heavy! Carol

That's awesome news Carol.. and great to see!! Here's to him continuing along well.... I've discovered boys develop so much differently from girls, but they get there eventually. My DS was quick with crawling, but didn't walk until much later... you just never know... now my DS runs faster than his 4 year old sister .. so it has it's problems as well.

That's great, Carol! He looks like he's doing so much better, now! Hmm, why do I have a sudden urge to kiss those cute chubby cheeks? You can do that for me, right? Tara

Thanks so much guys!
They're doing a 'Biggest Loser' group at church and they were doing weigh ins on Wed and I stuck DS on the scale - he tipped it at 20.4lbs! That's not official by any means [was fully clothed w/ diaper, just eaten a lot] but still...
Doc appt next Wed, then appt with specialists on Nov. 5.

WOOHOO!!!!
Last year today, we put DS in the hospital for the first time. He was back under eight pounds at the time.
Today, he's almost 20lbs and has been released by the specialist we went to see this week!
He was 19lb 3oz last week at his check up and was 19lb 13oz this week at the specialist's clinic. That's up 7lb since he was put in the hospital with that nasty stomach bug in August - that's more than he gained his whole first year!
Praise God - he's doing so well. He's still a bit behind on his milestones - walking, talking etc. - but he was a preemie [30 days] and spent so much of the first six months especially just surviving that everyone's okay with that for the moment. As long as he continues progressing, it'll be okay and he is.
Thanks to everyone for your prayers/good thoughts/encouragement/etc over the last year.
You guys rock! Carol

So glad to hear that your son is doing well!
But I have a question - are DS his initials?

Hehe Dear son/darling son/or the D8s would probably go with Da Son. Abbreviations. I don't usually use the names of my kids/hubby online. DD is daughter, DH is husband, DW is wife [though I don't have one of those ], DF is friend, etc. And thanks . Carol

Ah, got it! And I totally understand - I only mention the first initials of my RL friends when I refer to them on my blog. I'm not into baring it all in cyberspace, either.

That is wonderful news Carol. I know it is such a relief when the specialists say 'I don't need to see him anymore'. My son is behind in the talking milestone too.. but I've been told boys can be much slower than girls and to not worry until he is two. As long as your DS is happy and healthy and loved.. those are the most important things. I am so happy for you I can't tell you. We've shared your lows, and now it is great to hear the highs as well. All the best, Lisa

Carol, I'm so glad to hear such good things about your DS. It sounds to me that he's turned the corner and is heading into the straightaway and accelerating. I hope you can keep up with him now that he's picking up speed!
We'll keep you in our prayers. And try to keep looking forward. God bless.
