Lois: Can I go? Clark: No. Lois: Oh come on, Clark, why do we go through this? We both know I’m going to go. Clark: Then why do you ask? Lois: I’m trying to be nice.

That's true with full term babies, but premature babies often don't have any deformation of the skull because they're smaller. I've seen preemies both ways, as a former Labor and Delivery nurse. I guess you can have it either way you choose. Nan

Ooo, didn't think of that! That is a very good point (pun intended)! I still look at the pics of Brandon with his little torpedo head! ~Liz

Re: your concerns re: childbirth
I wouldn't describe it as ripping, tearing or jagged unless something really was going wrong. Think major mega menstrual cramps: cramping, squeezing, pulling, etc. I probably would have written "intensely painful" rather than "disgustingly painful." (homebirth, 9 pound baby)
You did an excellent job of conveying the anxiety involved without getting bogged down in the details though.
And since I've been moved to comment; I'd like to take a moment to mention that I think you're doing a really good job with this story and I've been eagerly looking forward to each new part.

Childbirth is definitely one of those: Have to do it to know it things. I still think you did an excellent job at trying to portray what you did.
What got me though, was your description of the child - of her reaction to the child.
Those sweet special starfish hands. I am choked just remembering them. I kissed them - and those tiny feet - a billion times.
And that feeling of knowing you would kill anyone who harmed that child. Oh yes. I know it well.
Mama tiger. That is what i am.
Your chapter moved me to tears. I hope that makes you happy, because it should.

Holy Christ, I must admit I had a small conniption when the truck broke down. But then I prayed to the FoLC Gods that Clark's powers would come back. So thank God. :p Love the baby's name!

Hi, Great part. Love the name. Now, lets get rid of Luthor and make Lois a widow. More ASAP, please. MAF
