This isn't, technically, a new video. It's one I started but never got around to finishing. It somehow got lost on my hard drive and I recently rediscovered it, dusted it off and put some finishing touches on it. Ten Thousand Miles

Oh, wow, C_A, this was so wonderful! While watching I thought "Great, another one on my must-watch list" (my birate's very low, so normally I have to choose carefully what I load) but then I realized, it was *you* whose videos are anyway at my hard drive So, then I can say: As usual, I really enjoyed this vid! The line "if I should not return" was so heart-wrenching! And Lois' look up at the window, remembering her first flight with Clark.... Clark watching his ring, remembering the proposal (well, the first of all ).... both of them standing on Clark's window looking up to Krypton, remembering their first Christmas together.... awwwwwww Jana

Wow, it was probably a misktake to be reading the Longest Road Series by Rac then flip to this little treat... Absolutly briliant. I love how the scenes of the New Krypton present mix with what you (the video maker) see as flashbacks. They are wonderfully crafted in there. I love it. Nice angst and just overall a great job. Keep them comming ~Lois Lane Wanna be

Oh C_A - I knew I had been missing your vids... thanks for reminding me why I'd been missing them so much. This was simply beautiful! I loved the way you wove the flashbacks in with what they were feeling at that present moment. Wonderfully done. Thank you so much for "taking it out, dusting it off, and putting the finishing touches on it". I loved it! Please share more soon! -- DJ

C_A - this is very belated feedback because I've probably watched this vid almost every day since you posted it.
Where to start?
First off, love the song. It's so achingly sad and so perfect for the scenes you picked. I absolutely loved the story you've told. Here's Clark, leaving and they're both remembering the first time that they stood outside on his balcony, or she saw him fly through the window at the Planet, or he took her up into the clouds... <sob, choke, sob>
It never fails to get me. You are *soooooo* good at this. I confess, I watch "Only You" far more than is probably healthy, too.
They're just... perfect. The perfect mix of angst and romance and bittersweet longing. Thank you for the considerable amount of time you spend creating them. If it's any kind of reward at all, I seriously do worship your genius.
Eagerly awaiting your next,
Sue
Lois: You know, I have a funny feeling that you didn't tell me your biggest secret.
Clark: Well, just to put your little mind at ease, Lois, you're right. Ides of Metropolis

Wonderful video and great music... I love your work and your choice of the krypton's arc!!!! I love this arc, it's sad and touching...
CLARK: I hated not being able to tell you. I mean, you think it was easy watching you swoon over Superman and ignore me? LOIS: That doesn't make any sense! You are Superman! CLARK: No, Superman is what I can do, but Clark is who I am...

More feedback, yay! Sue, your feedback always makes my day, thanks for posting . Not sure when there will be a "next one" as I'm very busy at the moment, but I have a few ideas I would like to explore. I just have to find the time! Thanks to Jackie and Xcully, as well: glad you liked it.

C_A, I know I said this was good in your trailer thread but I felt I had to give this some feedback here as well. I really, really, enjoy this one and it only grows on me. It's hauntingly subdued.

I'm sorry, but I can't get this one out of my head. Did you people know that: Fare Thee Well (or "Ten Thousand Miles") is an Eighteenth Century folk ballad, in which a lover bids farewell before setting off on a journey. The lyrics include a dialogue between the lovers. The first published version of the song appeared in 1710. The song has been recorded, most notably by Joan Baez, as well as by Jason Molina, Eliza Carthy and Mary Chapin Carpenter. I don't know how many time I've listened to this one and I don't even need to see the sequences of the video anymore, they are that in synch. Lyrics Fare you well my own true love And farewell for a while. I’m going away, but I’ll be back If I go ten thousand miles. Ten thousand miles, my own true love, Ten thousand miles or more, And the rocks may melt and the seas may burn, If I no more return. Oh don’t you see that lonesome dove, Sitting on yon ivy tree, She’s weeping for her own true love Just as I shall weep for mine. Oh come back my own true love And stay a while with me For if I had a friend all on this earth, You’ve been a friend to me. And fare you well my own true love And farewell for a while. I’m going away, but I’ll be back If I go ten thousand miles. Dear god, I'm turning in som kind of emo-kid.
I do know you, and I know you wouldn't lie... at least to me...most of the time...

Well, I don't usually watch the vids that are 'sad'. But this was so beautiful and I'm so glad I did. You really do have a knack for doing these well. Wonderful! Brava!
Arawn noted this was also a trailer... For what?

More feedback! Yay! Arawn, thanks for posting (twice!). I'm really glad you liked it--enough to post multiple times, even. Classicalla, thanks for giving this one a shot. I'm happy you enjoyed it, even though it's sad. It's not a trailer--Arawn mentioned that he (it is 'he', right?) liked this vid over in the fdk thread for my trailer for Faustian Bargain.
