Hello everyone!

It seems that my writing muse has taken an extended leave and my vid muse has taken up residence in her absence.

I'm not really sure how to feel about that... but at least hopefully you'll enjoy the result.

This came about because hubby and I were watching VH1 best of the 80's a few weeks ago. One of the songs to make the top ten best songs of the 80's was "Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper. As I listened to the song and heard the lyrics "If you fall I will catch you, I will be waiting..." I thought, "Oooh, how cool, I could do a vid with Lois falling and Superman catching her..."

Uh, yeah, about that...

As you'll see, that's not what came out of my laptop. First, I realized there aren't as many "Lois falling" scenes as one might think. Secondly, a storyline kept presenting itself to my muse and she said if we followed the storyline, we couldn't do the "falling" scenes.

So I turned the project over to my muse and let her play. This is the result. Think of the falling as more of an emotional thing instead of physical. The vid is set during Clark's dream sequence in "Meet John Doe".

Hope you enjoy! (I didn't make a large version this time.)

(Oh, and a thank you to Sue for previewing it for me and giving me her honest thoughts)

First to post! YES! wink

I love the 80's effects of time after time and making the kisses represent that is awesome.

I love how you make it like memories for Clark. Very awesome indeed.

You are really great at video making. Hope the muse keeps comming and more comes soon! smile

Lover-ly!

I really like the repeated turning page effect for "time after time".

Very nice, DJ, and thank you for sharing! Kisses to the vid muse! sloppy

I was thinking, your poor vid muse, she has quite a voice, and all we ever call her is "vid muse". She needs a name. How about... um.... ok, I can't think of one. But I am sure you can! laugh

Well, let's see, there's Calliope - The Chief Muse and the Muse of Epic Song. Or Euterpe - The Muse of Lyric Song. Or Polyhymnia - the Muse of Sacred Song. Or even Melpomene - the Muse of Tragedy (for all those angsty vids).

Erato - The Muse of Erotic Poetry?

Er...maybe not. goofy

For some reason, Euterpe keeps making me think of Wyatt Earp. dizzy

Or, you could just call her Bubbles.

Why? Well, why not? It's as good as anything else, isn't it?

Hi Kelly!

Thanks for the fdk! I'm glad you enjoyed it. And "you are really great at video making" -- wow! That coming from you??? I'm flattered! Thank you! I have one or two others that I'll be slowly working on. But nothing for a while.

Hello Lisa!

Glad you liked the effects and my muse is blushing at those kisses. blush Yes, poor little vid muse... she needs a name I suppose, but then again, I've never named my writing muse either. wink Hee hee. Thanks for the fdk!

Labby! Ha ha! Bubbles? That's too funny! Hmm, Bubbles... well, like you said, why not, it's as good anything else...

I'll have to see what she thinks of that.

Bubbles... laugh

Thanks for the fdk everyone!!!

Figured I should watch this one, being a child...um...teen...um...well whatever...of the eighties. wink and given that I've always liked this song. (I've always wanted someone to do something with all of the female characters on LNC - villains and others, as well as Lois - to Cyndi's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun laugh )

But this one - really enjoyed it. It had some really nice, inventive touches. Like the B&W fading and the repeats on 'time after time'. And I adore the selection of kisses at the end, fading into the romantic firelight tryst. Left me with a smile.

Bubbles did good. <g>

Oh, come on... you just have to do this, Labby. I'd love to see it! Don't make me get the guys with pointy sticks after you goofy

Huh? What? goofy

Well, you know it is tempting. But although I thoroughly enjoyed doing 'Small Talk' for the Fundraiser DVd it also took me about six months to get down one teensy music vid and four of those were spent cursing the day MM was invented and threatening to throw my pc out of the window.

It was terribly good fun...but also deeply frustrating. laugh

It may be a time before I work up the nerve to go back in. wink

Well, now, DJ, you just posted a fic, so both muses must be sitting on your shoulders now.

I loved the page turning effect.

And I definitely agree that somebody ought to do 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun'. (Seeing as how I was one those.. um... teen...um...well whatever...of the eighties, too.

Gee, what's that - I haven't posted fdk?!?
Oh my god...

MR, I loved this vid! The song is great and it matches LnC perfectly! So did the great scenes you chose and the "backround" of MJD!

And I think you did a great job not to stick literally to this "fall and catch" line but to use it metaphorically. Wonderful! thumbsup

Best,
Jana,
who loves these neat effects like your "time after time"-turning-pages-thingy

I love this song! Now I want someone to do true colors. I think that one would be a good vid!

Very good job on the vid, MR! Loved the transitions and effects. And very good on the lyrics/image. And hidden meanings. LOVED IT!!

Eeep! How did I miss all this additional fdk?

Wow! Thanks everyone! Sorry to be so late with my reply.

Ah, yes, Labby, now I see upon re-reading your statement that you didn't propose to do that vid yourself <g> I guess that was just wishful/hopeful thinking on my part. laugh

Hi Nancy! Glad you liked the effect and yes, both muses were visiting for awhile. Labby named my vid muse Bubbles so I named the other one Babbles. <g> I think it fits. Bubbles is on hiatus again though. She started 2 or 3 vids and then ran off. It was quite irritating... But Babbles has picked up the slack. <g>

Hi Jana! Can we coin that phrase? "turning-pages'thingy" -- ha ha ha! Reminds me of when Lois asks Clark if he can use his vision gizmo and he says that doesn't sound very "cool" (paraphrased of course). Ha ha ha! I'm so glad you liked it and enjoyed the "metaphors". Thanks for that high praise! blush

Rach! The evil queen of vids herself! How have you been? Haven't seen you around lately. Thanks and glad you enjoyed it... but... what's this about "give me another one"... ummm... I still seem to remember you owing me a vid... or 2 laugh I distinctly remember you telling me MONTHS AGO to keep my pants on, that I'd be getting a vid soon. <poke> wildguy Hee hee - love ya Rach.

Hi there Tahu! Thanks for the fdk! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I've missed hearing from you. I know you've been busy.

Oh, and new vids in 2007? Most assuredly. My muse started 2 new vids and 1 trailer, and then ran off... but she assured me she'd be back... eventually. <g>

Thanks again everyone!!!
