"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad." "How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.”

Thanks, Michael, for updating those links. I saw this new JL8 this morning, but you beat me to the share. Yep, that's Lois.

DalekDoh, yup. She said the "S" word. Well, Lynn, he STARTED it by correcting her use of the (or shall we say A) "c" word.

But Virginia, Lois was the one to SAY the/a "c" word. In fact, she has such a foul mouth that both her first and last names are four letter words! (Sorry. I couldn't resist.) Joy, Lynn

I wonder what the legalities are with that shirt... I suspect that the JL8 artist is only allowed to do his thing because he hadn't been making any money from Warner Bros and DC Comics' licensed characters. (I wrote "hand't been" because he now has a Patreon account. I'm not sure how that work legally, either.) I am also guessing that the purveyor of the T-shirt is probably not that comic strip creator and might not have permission from either him or DC Comics to use these characters.

Lynn - that's not entirely true. Yale does the convention circuit and sells prints of his work. His web comic is free, but he is making money off prints. http://yalestewart.bigcartel.com/I own "We Will Be Giants" (Just Clark and Bruce, I bought it before he did the entire Justice League) and the Superman/Batman Jim Lee Parody. Maybe he has permission after all, if he's able to sell some of his work?

DC, you're right; thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten about the convention circuits. And I know the "We Will be Giants" artwork; I've seen it on his website and I really like it. I'm not familiar with his Jim Lee parody.
I'm not sure what his legal standing is, but even if he is allowed to use the DC characters, I wonder whether the person selling T-shirts is allowed to use Yale's interpretation of those characters. (I'm not saying that they aren't allowed, just that I don't know either way.) I guess if they aren't allowed, someone will shut them down soon.

Hi Lynn! This is the link to the parody: http://yalestewart.bigcartel.com/product/batman-superman-jim-lee-parody-11-x17I would venture to guess that the shirt maker doesn't have Yale's permission to use his interpretation of his characters. But I can't say for certain, obviously. It wouldn't surprise me if the shirt eventually gets shut down. (I know Yale recently posted about someone using a drawing of his for a purpose he didn't intend on Facebook.)

Hi DC,
Thanks for the link. I had seen that image before, but I hadn't forgotten that it was a parody of another piece of artwork.
I had thought to contact Yale to ask him about the t-shirt, but I don't want to create a Tumblr account to do so. (This site and fanfiction.net are as close I want to get to a social media site.)
I guess time will tell.

Lynn - I don't blame you. I don't want/need a tumblr account either. I do Facebook and have a Twitter account, but I don't feel comfortable contacting Yale about the shirt.
