Hi, Great part.
Maria D. Ferdez. --- Don't like Luthor, unfinished, untitled and crossover story, and people that promises and don't deliver. I'm getting choosy with age. MAF

Poor Clark! Just be sure to get him out of this mess really soon and that Lois's ring is returned to him ASAP!

Hi Rac,
You do write so well and this is 'heart in the mouth' stuff. But, please, please let Kal be rescued soon. Even I can't take much more of this, and I'm only reading.
I hope the next part sees Kal freed from his prison, though, I have to say, I'm dreading the fact that Nor is interested in 'Low-iss'.
Yours Jenni

I've waited a day to post comments becuase I wasn't sure what to say - still not This is such a strong story - so powerful when it comes to Clark, and so sad. As always I'm impressed by your writing - that's why I feel so much sadness for your characters, I think. And also by your story telling - things are happening (although at the moment not good things Talan is interesting! Tricia's right: time that Clark went home to Lois. keep writing c

Another pretty intense part, Rac.
You write very well, and have forced me, reluctantly, to give a crap about a few of the New Kryptonians.
Was is always an ugly thing. The romanticized glory that fiction sometimes give it is a falacy. War is brutal and uncomprimising, and you are portraying that well.
Kal El's torture fits well into the character of Lord Nor and his spiteful, immature arrogance. A personality formed by his resentment of his mother's control. But Clark/Kal, is not Superman anymore, and hasn't been for a long time. He's not going to be able to take much more. As it is, it's possible that he has suffered permanant damage. Damage that a yellow sun might not be able to fix. And there is no question that he is going to be dealing with psycological scars for the rest of his life. It's nice to see that his imagination is using Lois to keep him from giving up.
If one buys into the 'soulmates' type of thing I would imagine that Lois would be aware of Clark's current situation in some form. I not saying that she would know that Clark is being tortured, but that she would be plagued by a sense of unexplanable discomfort, or uneasyness. A sense that has no basis in the actions and events of her current situation.
I'm looking forward to the 'final confrontation' between Nor and his Mother.
Tank (who thinks that this is the perfect time to 'replace' Kal as First Minister so he is free to leave once he is rescued... if he is rescued)

Long live Talan!!!
If she had to move heaven and Earth, perhaps come back to haunt Perry and explain the story after they'd killed her, she would do it.

Thanks for your comments, everyone. I'm so glad to see that you guys are still reading. I know this part wasn't a lot of fun, but I will post more soon. It will hopefully answer a lot of questions and get you to think I'm slightly less evil.
LLWB, I'm sorry that this part has been so hard on Clark, I won't leave him like this forever, though.
Maria, thanks for your comments and for reading so faithfully. I know I'm really mean, I'll try to rectify that at some point, but it's not going to be a picnic. To answer your question, Talan is part of a search party, just moving alone. There are others all over the planet searching for Clark.
CrazyBabe and Tricia, thanks for commenting. As Talan has the ring, I don't think there's anywhere safer it can be at the moment (excepting, of course Lois's finger). There's still more Clark has to do on New Krypton, I'm afraid, but I'm trying to write more frequently these days.
Hi Jenni, thanks for your comments. Luckily, Lois and Nor are millions of miles apart, but I agree that it's troubling, especially to Clark.
Carol, thanks so much for your comments. It's always flattering to be complimented by a writer I admire so much.
Tank, there are few compliments that could be more meaningful than to hear that I've made you care (even a tiny bit) about some of the NKers. You're right that the psychological scars are going to be deeper and more permanent than any physical ones. Few people are strong enough to maintain their sense of self under those kinds of conditions, but when Jonathan said Clark was strong where it counts, I think that's what he meant.
AnKS and Daneel, thanks for commenting, more is coming soon!
