Clark nodded slowly. “Just tell Henderson as much as you can without making him think you’ve lost your mind. But if push comes to shove, you may need to tell him everything.”
Lois’ eyes widened. “Including that you’re Superman?”
He bit his lip. “I trust you to make the right decision.” His gaze was resting on her and she felt that he wanted to say so much more.
A matter of trust indeed! This is especially true since Lois is still waffling about whether the entire brain swapping situation took place! Telling Henderson enlarges the circle of people who know what Clark's 'second' job is. Scary! But if pushes comes to shove having Henderson on their side makes a great deal of sense. Lex, for all his arrogance will not consider the police detective worth bothering with. He probably thinks Perry or Jimmy would be a better target for him if he wants to bend Lois to his will.
Yes, Lois is with Clark. but they have a long road ahead of them if they want to defeat Super Lex. A solution to the problem? Get Dr. Klein's batch of kryptonite and have it ready the next time Lex is in Clark's body. The sheer agony of pain will scare that terrible man back where he belongs.... maybe.
Clark suddenly tensed. "I think he's returning," he whispered, frightened.
Reading those words really frightened me. Clark is right, if Luthor knows that Lois has been talking to Clark her life just might be forfeit.
The premise of Lex having Superman's power story is truly scary. For all my nail biting, I look forward with much anticipation to the next installment.
