Whew! This is one long chapter! Here's why; in canon Lois is well known for having trust issues which is one of the reasons why it took so long for her and Clark to get together. Although he is only mentioned once in The Rival, her college boyfriend ended their relationship because of his interest in Linda King. So this chapter introduces my interpretation of Paul Talmadge and his history with Lois during their college days. peep

Comments are always welcomed.

A writer's job is to think of new plots and create characters who stay with you long after the final page has been read. If that mission is accomplished than we have done what we set out to do, which is to entertain and hopefully educate.

Thanks for another terrific chapter. I like your interpretation of what happened and why Lois has trust issues. It definitely was a painful lesson though it helped make her the great investigative reporter that she is. Gifts can come in a strange package.

I love this story! Thank you!

Yes, some gifts come from the most unexpected places and persons. The professor realized Lois truly needed to be writing investigative pieces, not sports articles. He did her a great favor. Its a good thing he is friends with Perry othewise it might have taken Lois a little longer to be hired by The Daily Planet.

Oh man, she does have a load of trust issues! Now, if she can just get through this investigation without any incident between herself and Paul. help
