Shifting the perspective a bit. Focusing on one of the Collectives. Nor needs supplies...

All comments are welcome. They help make the story better.

Wow, this chapter really shows how Clark is in trouble. His allies get attacked and he has to fight against someone who knows no conscience. I guess that's what war is like. You're describing the urgency and fear perfectly.

Can't wait for the next part.

Hi Bakasi!

The inhabitants on the Ur Collective were delivered a terrible blow. It all happened so quickly! Now they have to face rebuilding and well as the loss of Lord Mar-Ur's son. Nor is stepping up the pressure and now Clark and his family must find a way to strike back without destroying everything that the people of New Krypton have worked to build.

Again, Lois halted the program and stared at Clark. This was not the man who went to New Krypton months ago. His speech pattern and body language, even the fact that he called Earth, Terra, demonstrated how much he had changed. The gentle reporter was being submerged and a warrior King was emerging. In one sense, she was proud of Clark, helping his Kryptonian relatives, but at what cost to himself?
How long has Clark been gone? It may not be easy to readapt to life on Earth when he returns.

With that Clark’s study on New Krypton faded and she was once more in the now unnervingly quiet apartment. Clark’s image was gone, taking all the warmth and sound with it. The stillness so profound and all-encompassing, it hurt like a physical thing.
That's so sad. mecry Hearing that things are not going well on New Krypton must make things worse for Lois.

Since arriving here, it has been a constant round of learning not only how to fight, the Kryptonian way, but also to learn about its laws and customs. There are sports like our boxing and wrestling, but nothing like the karate that you are so proficient in. Those have been relatively easy to master. Whenever we are not planning or trying to assist a group under attack, I train. Ching is my primary instructor for those particular skills. Then there is swordsmanship. Grandmother has been an excellent instructor ... a real taskmaster! I have learned so much from her in such a short period of time; it is incredible. He nodded thoughtfully and said with a shadow of his old self, When I get back to Terra if I ever lose my powers, I can fight criminals with a sword … like D’Artagnan of the Musketeers!
Learning how to fight is useful. I hope it's enough to grant him victory over Nor.

Not quite a year, but you can bet that Lois is counting every day!

She is hoping for the best possible outcome. Yet it is nerve racking waiting for the courier to arrive with the latest information from New Krypton.

Learning how to fight is essential for Clark! Soon you will discover just how essential. Still he is learning from Ching and Lady Lo who are quite good with the sword as well as hand to hand combat. But it is his later teacher who will be the most helpful.

That was an intense, exciting chapter! I hope Dar is okay. Clark does not have an easy task ahead of him. He’s facing an enemy who has no honor and doesn’t care who he hurts. Hopefully Clark can defeat Nor without destroying all of New Krypton and himself in the process. I love this story! Thanks!
