Happy holidays FoLCs đ

"Clark, grab the camera!"
"Got it!" Clark waved the camera in Loisâ direction. "You guys ready?"
"Yep!"
Clark watched with pride as Lois scooped up their baby son from the play mat on the floor and positioned herself and baby Jon in front of the perfectly decorated Christmas tree that stood in one corner of the living room.
"Did you set the timer?" Lois asked.
Clark focused on the camera, adjusting the timer to his liking and setting it on the tripod. "Uh, yeah, ready." In a flash, he was by Lois' side, wrapping his arms around her and their son, grinning at the camera.
"Jon, look at the camera!" Lois encouraged.
Jon squirmed, patting her face with his tiny hands, making both Lois and Clark laugh as the camera flashed.
"Let's do one more!" Clark ran to reset the timer, and the trio posed again. This time, Jon was nestled between them, giggling as he patted both their faces, drool rolling down his chin.
"Say cheese!" Clark tickled Jon's side.
Jon squealed and blew a raspberry as the flash went off.
Clark opened his mouth to suggest another family photo when the doorbell chimed.
"Perry and Alice are here," he said with a smile after scanning the door with his enhanced vision.
"Oh no! We have so much to do!" Lois wiped the drool from Jonâs face and shifted him in her arms. "I'm not even dressed for dinner!" She glanced down at her jeans and a sweater in dismay, before her head snapped up to look at Clark. "Speaking of dinner, we haven't started it yet!"
"Honey, you look great, and I can have dinner ready in two minutes."
Clark could tell his wife wasnât listening, absently shifting Jon into his arms. "You take Jon, and I'll dash upstairs to put on that new red dress you bought me."
"Deal," Clark agreed, eager to see her in the dress. He headed for the door as Lois hurried upstairs.
Clark opened the door, and Alice immediately scooped Jon out of Clarkâs arms and into hers, cooing at the little boy. Perry greeted Clark with a warm handshake.
"Thanks for having us, Kent."
Clark grinned at his former boss. "Weâre thrilled you could come. Lois especially."
Perryâs eyes misted over. "Well, you know that woman has always been like a daughter to me. Having her back this past year and a half has been such a blessing. All those years I thought we had lost her..." Perry cleared his throat. "It still chokes me up sometimes."
"Me too, Perry," Clark said, his own voice husky.
Perry's expression brightened, and he patted Clark on the back. "I'm just glad she found you. Or you found herâyou and that peculiar little friend of yours."
"Wells. Yeah, he should be here soon, if time permits," Clark grinned and tapped at his watch.
Perry chuckled. "Great."
The doorbell chimed again, and Clark once again lowered his glasses and scanned the front door. "Looks like James is here."
Perry laughed again. "Well, weâd better be on our best behavior, then."
"Kent!" James greeted him with a firm handshake. "Man, the paparazzi donât take a break, do they?"
"Bottom feeders," Perry grumbled.
"They didnât bother you, did they?" Clark glanced out the living room window at the photographers gathered in his driveway. A few had the gall to grin and wave at him as their cameras flashed. Clark offered them a dismissive wave and closed the curtains.
"They snapped a few shots," Perry shrugged. "Guess the Mayor having Christmas dinner with Superman is front-page news."
"They got me, too," James puffed out his chest. "Owner of The Planet and all."
"Weâre thinking about moving," Clark turned back to his guests. "Theyâre harmless, but itâd be nice if Lois and Jon could leave the house without getting photographed."
"Your home should be your sanctuary, Kent." James pulled a business card from his pocket. "My realtorâhe could find you something more private, perhaps out of the city."
Clark smiled. "I appreciate it, but Iâm not sure Lois actually wants to leave the city."
"Definitely not!" Lois called as she descended the stairs, wearing the red dress that clung to her curves.
Clark coughed, his mouth suddenly dry. "Lois, you look..."
"Amazing, right?" Lois giggled, leaning in to kiss him sweetly. "And weâre not running away!" She rolled her eyes toward the window. "Not now. We finally got those dirt diggers to stop going through our trash."
"Good grief," Perry groaned.
"The dirty diapers helped with that," Clark added with a smirk.
Lois laughed and greeted their guests with hugs before taking Jon back into her arms from a reluctant Alice.
"No spitting up on Mommyâs new dress," she warned Jon before turning to Clark. "Honey, have you started dinner?"
Clark ducked his head. "Uh, not yet."
"Clark!"
"Donât worry, itâll only takeââ
âTwo minutes, I knowâŠâ
âBesides, Wells isnât even here yet," Clark said. "How about we have a drink first, then Iâll whip something up?"
"Alright," Lois sighed as Jon gnawed on her shoulder. "But I think Jonâs hungry." She pulled him away from her soggy shoulder.
Clark chuckled. "Iâll grab him something." He kissed Jon on the forehead. "How about you take a few more pictures?"
"Great idea!" Lois handed Jon to Clark and eagerly reached for the camera. "I want this to be a Christmas to remember!"
"It will be," Clark promised her with a gentle smile, which she returned.
A bright flash filled the room, and everyone turned to watch as a shimmering portal opened in the middle of the living room. Out of the portal stepped the tiny figure of Herbert George Wells, clad in a Santa suit with a large red sack slung over his shoulder.
Wells cleared his throat as the portal vanished behind him. "Ho, ho⊠um, ho!"
Jon squealed in delight, clapping his hands enthusiastically.
Clark's heart swelled as a grinning Lois snapped a photo of their latest guest.
"Definitely a Christmas to remember..."
