Strangers that meet under the moonlight....3/?

The next day Clark went to see his old friend Lex Luther. He wanted to see if Lex could possibly find the mystery woman from his dreams. He didn't know where else to go. He knew if he told Jimmy or Perry about the woman that they would think he was crazy or something.

Clark knew Lex back in the days that he lived in Smallville. Lex's father owned half the town and had Lex running it for him. Lex wanted to be in Metropolis running Lex Corp. but his father made him stay in Smallville running the power plant.

Lex and Clark became friends when Clark saved Lex from his car when it smashed into the river. Clark tore the top off Lex's Mercedes in order to get him out of the car before he drowned.

Lex almost found out Clark's secret a few times but each time he was disproved and stopped looking for reasons as to why Clark saved him from certain death. Lex was of course still curious as to why Clark saved him but chalked it up to being in the right place at the right time.

Clark hoped Lex could help him find his mystery woman before he got married to Lana. He wasn't sure why he was still engaged to Lana but he wanted to get out of it as soon as possible.

Clark knocked on Lex's door and was ushered in by the maid and shown to Lex's study.

"Thank you, Judith that will be all." Lex stated as she brought in Clark. She left and shut the door behide her.

"Thank you Lex for seeing me on such sort otice. I need help finding someone." Clark started right in seeing that he had no time to waste.

"I'd love to help you Clark, can you tell me a little about this person you want to find."

"Well she's very pretty and about five feet and nine to eleven inches with dark brown hair and brown eyes. She has a beautiful smile and a great figure."

"Well do you at least know her name or where she's from." Lex asked wondering why Clark would be looking for another woman when he had Lana.

"Well I don't know anymore about her except what I just told you."

"That's not much to go on. How do you expect me to find this mystery women."

"I'm not sure. I was just hoping you'd be able to locate her and as fast as you can." Clark
was wondering how fast Lex could find her but he hoped he could find her fast.

"Well I'm not sure exactly how much help I'll be but you know I'd do anything for you Clark."

Clark hoped this was true because he dreaded marrying Lana even more than he dreaded people finding out about him.

On the way out of Lex's house, Clark spotted someone lurkin around out of the corner of his eye. It was a man and Clark could have swore that he looked frightened.

The next day, Lois thought long and hard about where she should go when she got better. She had no idea where she was from so she couldn't go back. She couldn't stay at the convent. She felt like she was going nuts just laying there doing nothing. She had a feeling that she was the type of person that was always on the go.

She couldn't come up with a city that would have a big newspaper for her to work at so she decided to ask the nun that had been taking care of her. When Mary Alice finally came in the check on her. She was in such a hurry that she blurted out, "Where in the world can I find a big metropolitan newspaper that is known world wide."

Mary Alice was ready for this question because she knew that the day would come where Lois would want to return to her journalistic instincts and go somewhere with a big newspaper. The first newspaper that came to mind was the New York Times. She had heard of them many times because of there world class news team. She had no trouble responding with "I've always heard that the New York Times is known world wide and
they have an amazing writing staff."

"I guess I'm going to go to New York then." Lois replied.

"It is a big city maybe you should think of somewhere smaller like Kansas."

"No, I think the big city is where I belong. I don't know how I know but it just feels right."

"So I guess it's settled then. You're going to go to New York City when you are feeling up to traveling that is." Mary Alice was glad she knew where she wanted to go because she was afraid that Lois wouldn't know where to go or what to do with her life.

Miguel Ortega was one of the best cops on the force in Metropolis. Everyone loved him and respected him but he wanted more than just respect. He wanted money and power and Lex Luthor was willing to give him both.

He was meeting with Lex to discuss the next step in Lex's plan. He was a little nervous that someone might find out he was working with Lex on something illegal. He wanted money and power but not at the cost of losing his job.

He loved his job he just didn't like the pay. He wanted to be able to give his family all the
things he never had as a child. He had eight kids to feed and a stay at home wife to keep
happy. The oldest was only fourteen and all of them are spoiled rotten. His wife liked expensive things like mint coats and diamond jewelry.

Working with Lex was like a dream come true. He could get all the money needed to give his family everything they could ever want. Lex just wanted him to do a few things to the local congressmen to get him to do what Lex wanted him to do. Unfortunately the congressmen wasn't budging and Lex wanted to up the stakes and force the congressmen to do what he wanted.

He was a little afraid of getting caught but with what Lex was paying him he was willing to take the risk. It didn't really seem like Lex wanted him to do anything too terribly bad. If Lex had asked him to do something like kill someone then he would definitely have to say no. He just hoped if it came to that, Lex would let him go without harming him.

Right now all Lex wanted him to do was to make threathing phone calls. He was to tell the congressmen that if he didn't go along with the plan set in place then his wife and daughter were going to be kidnapped.

to be continued......

Lois: You think we'll be together when we get old and gray.
Clark: I sure hope so because I don't think I could go on living if living is without you.
