Hey, Nancy, this was really funny! And cute. Imagine, Superman himself gets to play Jimmy Olsen in a movie about Superman set in the LnC universe!!! Priceless!

And, hey, this was just so funny too:

Quote
Lois and Clark were also characters in the movie. What a hoot! Lois was going to be played by that sexy actress on 'Desperate Housewives'. Her name was Teri Hatcher. Lois just loved that show.

She said a little shakily, "You... are him?" He nodded. "Ohhh... I can't believe I said that to you."

"Well, what had you planned on saying to me if you knew it was me you were saying it to?"

"Well, I hadn't *planned* on talking." She turned and pointed out her trailer. "That's where I'll be."
She's pointing out her trailer to him!! razz

Quote
He looked over to the director. "Does this go on all the time?"

"Ummm.... Let's just say it's a lot worse than usual. What can I say? They think you are hot."
Hmmm, yes. That's what this story is called, isn't it? Superman is hot?

Quote
Perplexed, he answered, "I'm hot?" He shook his head lightly. "So, I'm supposed to be a policeman, huh?"

"Well, actually I imagine the only thing you do is be Superman, but it's making for a good story. And man, this is going to be blockbuster."

"Oh, come on."

"Superman, I just don't think you fully realize your hotness factor."
So funny! Superman is supposed to play a policeman, but all the director really wants him to do is be Superman. goofy And this sweet Man of Steel doesn't realize his hotness factor! goofy

Quote
Finally, he could get out of there and go back home to Lois.
Good! You know I'm always relieved when he does that!

Quote
The movie, 'Superman', premiered. It made more money that any other movie ever made.
I wish it had been so for real! Of course, if you made a Superman movie where Superman was played by Brandon Routh, Clark Kent by Dean Cain, Lois Lane by Teri Hatcher, Jimmy Olsen the policeman was played by Superman himself and his partner 'Sugar', whom he has the hots for, was played by Kate Bosworth, well, I can imagine that this movie would be hot! A blockbuster indeed! Where can I buy a ticket, Nancy? goofy

What? Are you implying that in this universe, Superman hasn't got a secret identity? Superman is officially married to Lois Lane? Or Lois Lane is married to Clark Kent, but everybody knows that Clark Kent is Superman?
I think that what is meant is that Clark is uneasy because he doesn't want people wondering if he really does have a secret identity, and connecting him to Clark again; after all, it wouldn't be the first time!

Nancy! That was excellent!! smile

Quote
Clark just couldn't imagine why anyone would be interested in watching a movie about Superman.
Well... Clark... come on! DUH. *lol* They make movies about real life criminals and people pay money to see that, why wouldn't they want to se *SUPERMAN*... Please! wink

Quote
They were spending an absolute fortune on this thing. As he was sure it was going to be flop, he was aghast that this much money was being wasted. And somebody thought it would be cute for him to be in the movie.
Has it not occured to these people that they would save hundreds of thousands of dollars by having Superman play himself? Imagine all the CGI they wouldn't have to do... Like not having to hang an actor up on wires and get dozens of rotomonkeys to fix all the frames so they could remove the green screen and have the actors appear to be flying in Metropolis instead?

Boy... Hollywood people are really NOT smart.

LOL!

Quote
Some unknown actor named Brandon Routh had been cast in the role of Superman. Clark really thought that it was funny that the guy playing Clark Kent looked a whole lot more like him than the guy playing Superman.
Hehehe! I like that they have 2 separate people playing Clark and Superman. smile Good thinking!! Mind you, I think I'd have gotten Dean to play Superman -- but that's just cause in a Superman movie, he gets more airtime than Clark Kent does. Hehehe! I did like Brandon Routh in the role, though, I promise. He's got a *great* voice for a superhero. (and voices are really important to me!)

Quote
[...]but he managed to convince them that he couldn't because it was against Kryptonian law. Good grief. What some people would fall for.
Oh, come on, Clark! Of course they would. Didn't Lois fall for some of the world's stupidest excuses? Like the Cheese of the Month and stuff...? Hehehe! smile

Quote
They thought he was hot! He was hot? He knew women fell at his feet, but he thought that was because of the power thing. He was hot?
Oh, *gawd* yes! Hot, hot hot! Very, very, very hot. *drool* ...hummm... sorry... I'll try to contain myself a bit.

Quote
"Well, what had you planned on saying to me if you knew it was me you were saying it to?"
Hehehehe! Love that. smile Great comment!!

Quote

"Superman, I just don't think you fully realize your hotness factor."
Hey, the man is so hot he once made the temperature rise real high in the middle of winter.
Huh? What? That was Lex Luthor doing that? Really? Oh... okies... carry on.

Quote
When he did his few lines, he performed flawlessly and naturally.
Of course he did. The man spends half his life pretending to be 2 people, no wonder he'd be a great actor. smile

smile hehehe! Love that. Wish it were true! smile

Great little vignette, Nancy. smile Thanks for sharing it, it was just...well... super. wink hehehe!

Gentle Ben movies? Las Vegas? You lost me there.
Dean Cain played in two 'Gentle Ben' movies on the Animal Planet television station. His son in the movie had a 'pet' bear.

'Las Vegas' is a television show here. Dean Cain plays the owner of a casino / hotel in a recurring role.

Yes, Marcus. That's pretty much what I meant. I'm implying that while people think he might have a secret identity, no one except a select few really know. He is Clark Kent and is married to Lois Lane as Clark Kent. Superman is still what he does. If everyone knew he was Clark Kent then they wouldn't have had to give him a made up secret identity.

Jimmy Olsen the policeman was played by Superman himself.
Actually Clark, Lois, and Jimmy still work at the Daily Planet. The policeman identity was a complete fabrication.

In this little story, this is the first movie. Kal-L and Sugar haven't gotten around to that yet. Perhaps, I'll write a little sequel.

Believe it or not, I actually had two lines about this in the pre-edited story. They would have probably assumed he couldn't act, and he wouldn't have had time, either. That would have been pretty scary for him to play himself as his alter-ego Kal-L, the police officer, too.

Here's the bit about him flying. I really didn't quite like the way I had written it. ....

At first they had asked him to do the flying scenes, but he had refused as he just didn't have the time. Then they realized that it would be easier to fake the flying than to use a plane to film him actually flying. He was relieved because they had asked him numerous times.

My thinking was that that between the shadows of the airplanes and helicopters, and trying to get the right angle, and then having to super impose Brandon's face onto Superman's body, that they would end spending as much or more money anyway.

I'm glad you picked up on that.

I'm glad you guys liked my story!!

Hehehe - of course. smile I was just being sarcastic...

In fact, I think you had them exactly how movie producers should be. wink These people don't always sound logical to me - and your version of them doesn't either, so really, it's just perfect. smile

Lara, thanks for pointing out that thing about Superman obviously being a good actor, since he has to play two different people all the time!

So funny, Nancy! clap clap clap
