Ann, I'm so glad you posted this! *happy dance* I love it. Love love *love* it. Every blessed word. How you turned my teensy vignette on its head and bared Clark's soul to us. This is his fantasy, personified in a man who comes to work every morning, dressed in a conservative suit, an outrageous tie and glasses.
A man from this world.
A man who has no special abilities, nothing to set him apart from other men.
A man who, in spite of his ordinariness, is able to sweep the woman he loves off her feet, if not literally, at least figuratively.
So yes, Clark Kent wants the fantasy. Even if it means having to turn Lois Lane down for not loving him as the ordinary man that he is not. That's it, isn't it? Clark, in a few simple lines. You stated it beyond perfectly, Ann. Nothing I could've written would've come close to this. P.S. That intro you were so worried about? Stellar.

Wow, that was incredible. Correct: Incredibly wonderful. Bittersweet. Just 'wow'.

These two little vignettes encompass almost the entire B-plot for the first season, season and a half.
Well done.
I think, therefore, I get bananas.

Yeah! Someone actually made Ann post a story. This was such a cute flipside of the coin to Angelic's story. Loved it Ann. Wonderfully written and hits the nail on the head - they both do. Sorry I only just now saw them... I've been a busy girl lately. -- MR

Crystal, Olympe, woody, Barbara, Jackie and DJ: Thank you all so much for your lovely comments! woddy, I especially love your comment that these two vignettes encompass almost the entire B-plot of the first season. When I saw how brilliantly Crystal explained Lois's motivations during the first season, I just couldn't resist copying her vignette, but exchanging Lois for Clark, to describe my interpretation of Clark's corresponding driving force. I'm so glad you all think it worked! Thanks!!! And Crystal... I don't have to tell you that this vignette is for you, do I? Ann

Just like part 1 was totally Lois, this is just absolutely 100% Clark. You couldn't have described the man any better than that! Great work, Ann!

Aww... I'm so sorry I missed this earlier! Yeah! Someone actually made Ann post a story. [Big Grin] This was such a cute flipside of the coin to Angelic's story. Now if we could just get Ann to post some of other poetic feedback as their own fics.

I can't believe I missed commenting on this one. This was a lovely little companion piece to Crystal's vignette, Ann. Very nicely done. LabRat
