Barbara, I'm sorry this is going to be so short. But I have to tell you that I absolutely, absolutely loved this: “Kent, come on, leave the crybaby. She’s old enough to stay alone,” Lois shouted angrily. “We’ve gotta go!”
This was too much! Clark stood up, Becca still in his arms and rushed into the living room. “She’s seven, Ms. Lane! She’s has every right to cry! What would you say if your father was leaving you when he had promised to spend the whole day with you? I’m afraid but you’ll have to wait until she has had breakfast. I’ve got a phone. Call me the next time and I’ll be ready when it suits you,” he growled.
Lois Lane had turned pale. “I’m sorry,” she mumbled weakly and fell silent. She looked as if lightning had struck her. Lois is remembering how her own father used to treat her, isn't she? And she is thinking that all men are the same. Surely this Clark Kent will treat his daughter the way her father treated her? But then, when Clark stands up to her, tells her that she is way out of line and does it for his daughter's sake - well, nothing Clark could have done could have impressed Lois more. Clark Kent, a guy like any other? Oh, no, no, no. Indeed, Barbara, lightning has struck Lois, but I would also say that she has struck gold - and she knows it, too. Lois Lane entered the kitchen. She looked still a little pale. “I’m sorry, Kent. I was rude to you and your daughter. That was needless. It’s just… it has been a rough week.” Her apology sounded a whole lot friendlier. Clark looked up and studied her face. The fierce determination in it had receded and was almost gone now. The change in her expression had turned her into an incredibly vulnerable woman. Clark could tell from the look in her eyes that she had been hurt before. He realized that his impression of her had been right: she was tough but not as hardened as she claimed to be. Why is Lois looking so vulnerable? Allow me to guess that she has just fallen in love with Clark, and she realizes what a terribly bad first impression she has made on him. I'd say that right now, she is scared that he will hate her - because, cynicism and fears be damned, I believe that your Lois knows right now that she won't be able to make it if this man isn't prepared to love her. But where will all this leave Becca? Will Clark suddenly have two females, one in her late twenties and the other only seven, competing with each other for Clark's heart and becoming bitter rivals in the process? Aaaahh!! What a situation! Hmmmm, this is part 6 of 8. Is it possible that you can give us a WAFFY ending in just two more parts? I doubt it. But you said you had more sequels coming, didn't you? Ann

Hi, Great part! Love when Clark puts on his pants. Although Clark didn’t actually know her, she seemed quite distracted and lost in thought. He decided not to question her behavior until he knew Becca safely with his parents. She get dangerous when she thinks. More ASAP, please. MAF

Ann, I'm not sure that she's in love yet, but this is how I take it.
Lois is obviously having a bad day, yells at him, and then when he stands up for Becca, she realizes that she's responsible for him having to do what her father did to her, yet he actually cares about what his daughter thinks where her father didn't. I think she also realizes how cruel she was to girl just like herself, not wanting her father to leave her for work. It may take awhile, but Lois should look back and admire Becca's sassiness.
Who knows how the relationship will work out, but I think Lois is beginning to respect Clark for his parental care at least.
I think, therefore, I get bananas.

Yes, I may have been jumping to conclusions, woody. What you say sounds very reasonable.

The falling in love might be possible except this is Lois Lane, and (taking on Lois' determined voice) "Lois Lane does NOT fall for men that easily!"
I think, therefore, I get bananas.

Finally...they meet...Lois and Clark...and Becca!

Well, even if Lois *h a s* fallen in love by now, she would never *a d m i t* it.
And until now I didn't write anything from Lois' point of view. I'm not quite sure yet if I will use her POV later.
Like I said in the first part of Sunday's Gain, this won't finish the story. There is far to much on my mind to just let the two of them meet, fall in love, marry and make Becca say : "It's nice to meet you, Lois. Go and make my daddy happy, I don't bother. Ah, and would you mind if I call you mommy now?"
It's never too dark to be cool.

It was hilarious to see Lois mistaking Becca's head in Clark's bed for belonging to his girlfriend - and, of course, reacting with jealousy.
The way Clark stands up for Becca and puts Lois in her place is admirable. The same holds true for the way you wrapped it up. Can't wait for the next chapter.

That's what I was thinking, bakasi.
Lois took a season to admit her love for Clark the first time; if he has a kid, it could take even longer.
Loved how you set up their first impressions of each other.
I think, therefore, I get bananas.

“Clark Jerome Kent, who told you that lying was okay?” Hehe... Reminds me of 'Season's Greedings' when Martha threatens to tan his hide. It kills me to be able to help but be unable to go and do it.” Clark buried his face in his hands.
A small hand was touching him, stroking him lightly. Rebecca didn’t say anything; she just stroked his hands and back. Awww.... That's just so sweet. He emerged from his bed, dressed himself quickly and grabbed his glasses. Oh, darn, and here I thought when I first started reading the paragraph, you were going to give us a Clark in sleep shorts - aka bare chested Clark. Lois Lane had turned pale. “I’m sorry,” she mumbled weakly and fell silent. She looked as if lightning had struck her. Clark noticed it with fierce satisfaction and then returned his attention to Becca. Is Lois remembering something about her father? Hmmm.... Lois Lane entered the kitchen. She looked still a little pale. “I’m sorry, Kent. I was rude to you and your daughter. That was needless. It’s just… it has been a rough week.” Ah-ha! She's coming around.
