PURPLISH HAZE

A bubble slowly began to rise from the crimson pool. It swelled and towered higher and higher, creating a long cylinder of red. At last, its tail stretched thin behind it and broke from the ground, creating a perfect sphere that floated up toward the top of the lamp and then vanished into another pool of color.
"Woah." Jimmy coughed violently, and then handed the rolled-up cannabis back to his friend. Clark took it and pulled a large draft. Smoke filled the air.
"So what are you guys gonna name the baby?" Jimmy asked.
Lois, who was sitting contentedly on the other side of Clark, put a hand on her swollen belly and laid her head back on her husbands shoulder. "We like the name Star Heaven," she replied. Clark smiled at her.
"Nice," said Jimmy. "But, what if it's a boy?"
Lois turned towards him, partially leaning over Clark. "That *is* if it's a boy," she told Jimmy. "If it's a girl, we want to call her Moon Flower." Lois smiled up at Clark, who smiled sleepily down into her eyes.
"Nice," said Jimmy. He slowly leaned back, looking up into the sky. "Hey, what's that up there?" he asked, managing to point.
Lois looked up, leaning back into her husband's chest. "It's a shooting star!" she said, elated.
"No..." Clark said softly, after several moments staring at the approaching streak of light. "It's...a....uh...." He frowned. "...a...a...Wow!" Clark finally said after giving up on trying to think of the right word. "You guys should see it," he continued. "It looks like some one's throwing a big rock at us, very slowly."
"Woah," said Jimmy. "Cool."
Lois agreed.
