Interesting... I assume there will be more parts to this right? Just a note, you might want to put "1/10" or however many chapters you're going to make it, just to clear up some confusion. But anyway, I'm pretty intrigued. Of course, bad guys want to kill Lois all the time, but to actually want to MAKE her scream... Even if Big Blue was all the way in China, I'd be still taking all precautions to shut Lois Lane up. The guys must have some different sort of plan. Well... I'm hooked, lol. smile Great start.

Gah! What a scary premise! Where's the rest of it?

Please, please tell us there's more! I'm on the edge of my seat here!

Oh wow! I really didn't think I'd hear from anyone, being an unknown and all. Thanks for the feedback, you guys!

I had tinkered with the idea of extending the story and then decided that I kind of liked leaving it hanging the way it is. I did tease my beta that I would do a series of horror movie titles. That means I get at least three "Screams" before I have to think up something else, right?

Thanks again! I really appreciate your kind words.

J

We like unknowns here. Especially ones with stories as good as this one! wink

Absolutely chilling. Though I really wish there was more to this, leaving it there certainly adds to the effect. Hope to see more from you soon!

Oh my, you are evil. wildguy

I would love to see more of this, but I can see the merit in leaving a cliff hanger so. . .

Keep on writing. I like the idea of the movie titles.

It's cool, but I don't really get why she screamed. help

I demand an explanation---and some further extensions, plus a sequel or two, and an epilogue...

Assuming Metropolis is about where New York City is in our universe;

New York to Hong Kong about 7,000 miles
speed of sound aprox 770 mph

Nine (9) Hours for her scream to be heard by Superman

If some special telepathic link kicks in and he takes a quick trip
Escape velocity ~6.96 mi/s (If he goes any faster he will fly into space)

I.E. 27 seconds or so for Clark to reach Metropolis

*snicker* Really snazzy line. I am also left with a bunch of questions unanswered. Perhaps another which involves Superman/Clark screaming (as long as we have that motif *cackle*). Though I'd want a little hint as to how they made her scream, I have to admit the omission makes it more uncomfortable. Good stuff.

Oh, nicely creepy, JDG. Very effective. I appreciate your reasons for making it a standalone - it does give it added power.

All the same, wouldn't say no to a sequel - especially as there's terrific angst potential in Superman finding her later devil - should you or your Muse ever decide to add anything. wink

Looking forward to seeing more from you soon. And don't forget, if you want to send your story along to the Archive it would be very welcome.

Love this. And I know exactly what they did to make her scream. And I know that she would be alive when Clark got there 27 seconds later but it would still be too late and everything would be irreversible. Cue: angst as Clark berates himself and angst while Lois reacts to what made her scream.

Huge drama potential but I am glad it's stopping there. Going through all that angst would have killed me.

I had to do some searching before I read this one. because I saw "Scream 2 (1/2)" first and I said 'huh?" I thought it was 2/2 a few minutes ago before I did my search.

[EDIT - oh wait, Labrat fixed it. My confusion is gone.]

There was a scream written in 2003 so I was looking for an old story...now I understand and feel so silly! This is the part I was looking for. I’m happy that there is more for me to read!

I felt like I jumped in the deep end. Already into the mix of things. I think I have to read it again because I didn't have enough time to get afraid or all angst up. (Hubbie is distracting me with his camera.) I have nothing against having to read something again! HEHE!

Hmmm, I wonder what part 2 will be like. A frantic Clark trying to get Lois to spill the beans? Just thinking about it I'm afraid! The thought of being freaked out enough to scream is horrifying now that I think about it.

Ah c'mon Lois. You should have brought him anyways because he's good to look at. On a more serious note, she should listen to her Editor more! <thinking> A concerned Clark is a sexy Clark.

Oh! smile1 Snippet of classic Lois. I can just see the look on her face. thumbsup

"We're supposed to make you scream," Shortly added and cracked his knuckles.

"Why?" Lois made one last stab at bravado even as her legs began to shake.
"Why?" Such a simple response and good. Keep up the brave face Lois! I'm sure though her mind is either racing with the possibilities or blank and assessing the situation like a snake ready for the next move. I'm glad I'm not her at the moment.

Lois screamed.
My mind is VERY curious now. Gee, I have the luxury of reading the next part, but I can't stop typing up FDK. A little incoherent and choppy, but here you go.
