Shayne - fantastic chapter. I'm enjoying your portrayal of Lisa and her hopes for her mom and dad to get together. I think that's so common of children that have parents that have separated for one reason or another - it just rarely works out the way. I'm hoping things will work out for Lois and Clark, though.
Michael pointed out:
quote:
The ashtray coming out of the darkness almost caught him by surprise, but he’d been waiting for something like it. He flinched out of the way and it shattered on the doorframe beside him. He felt a trickle of liquid against his ear and realized he was bleeding.
quote:
Clark tapped on a button and the window between them and the chauffeur began to rise. Lois could see the man staring at them through the rear view mirror, a fresh looking scar on his eyebrow raised.
So the chauffeur is the mole.
um, I think I'm A-plot challenged. Do you believe that I didn't even notice this bit while I was reading?
Makes sense though. How else would Lana just happen to be at the restaurant at the exact time that Clark ventures out of his secluded lifestyle.
It'll be interesting if you show Lana has brought some red or green K. With the way Clark is hunched over, I'm not sure if it's just his conditioned response to her or if she has some of the nasty stuff with her.
I doubt it'll be green - that'll give Clark's secret away faster than I think you're willing to. But if she's brought red K, Lois might start to figure things out quickly too. She's seen the way it affects Lisa and if she sees some of the same behavior in Clark, she'll put the pieces together. If nothing else, Lois would figure out that the Kryptonite she's been hired to find is in Lana's posession.
BTW, you're very good at suspense. Every post I hope to see more information about Clark's background or I hope for his and Lois' relationship to develop. I do, but your ability to draw the story out and tease us with more questions is excellent.
Can't wait for the next post.
