Way to go, Lois! This line just killed me:

Quote
One of the other faults, are that I’m still the worst speller and my grammar is still as bad as it was before, but that’s what editors are for.
I wonder how many writers feel like that about their beta readers?

This is a terrific insight into Lois's past and her motivation for doing with her life what she's doing. Knowing this about her younger days really helps me to understand where she got the strength to withstand the pressure from her father to go into medicine. Despite the Lois-like spelling and grammar boo-boos, it's an excellent vignette. And it reads like something she might have written in her diary one day when she was feeling contemplative, or maybe right after one of Lucy's rants about her lack of a social life.

All in all, it's very good. We should read more little gems from you soon, right?

Life isn't a support system for writing. It's the other way around.
