I hadn't realized that you were planning on having more than one part. I like how each segment has its own villain.

Great follow-up, Rogue. Nor's paranoid reaction was perfect. And I think you nailed Ching and Zara and Trey, too. Their cynical response to Nor's minions killing each other to worm their way into Nor's nonexistent good graces was just right. And their decision to let it happen? Priceless.

This was excellent.
Quote
Ching smiled even bigger, “The nice thing about trying to save out enemies is that when we succeed we can enjoy our success and when we fail...well...we can enjoy the repercussions.”

“It’s not very nice of us, pleasuring in other’s loss...” she persisted.

“Yes, Zara,” Trey admitted sadly, “we must accept that in our failings we are villains.”
This was both funny and very telling. Trey, being the oldest, wisest, and most experienced of all the characters in these three quickies, knows that people aren't perfect, and he understands that each one of us has the potential to be something other than a hero all the time.

Assignment completed with honors, Mr. Chip. Congratulations to you and your IMF team on a job well done.

I wasn't planning on further parts, until after someone asked about Nor's reaction.

Zara, Ching and Trey actually feel compelled to rescue Nor's henchement from each other even though they don't want to, and they condemn themselves as villains for not wanting to do the right thing even though they do it.

What I think is interesting is that Lex describes himself as a villain, and is proud of it. The good guys condemn themselves as villains for their reluctance. The henchman recognizes he's off to do his 'villainous deed' (he knows he's a villain). Only Nor doesn't acknowledge his status as a villain...and he wants to know why he's surrounded by villains.

I wasn't planning on any more and I'm running out of people to do, but maybe Nigel should get a chance to speak. Let me see what happens.

That's Nigel all right - not as much with his own agenda as he sometimess is, but always professional and in his own way as much of a monster as Luthor.
