I see that Clark is finally walking in Lois’ shoes, I like it that he is feeling guilty, I’ve come to realize that guilty is one of the most bothering of the feelings.
I keep saying that Clark needs to listen, and this chapter is proof enough that he doesn’t listen. He heard Lois the first time she said he had died on her, only to make sense of it when Lucy said it.
Is it perhaps just Lois that Clark isn’t listening to?
I read once that if you don’t listen you send people three signals:
a) You weren’t paying attention to what they were saying;
b) What people have to say don’t matter to you;
c) You think that what you are thinking is more important than what people are saying.
I hope that Clark will start listening to Lois. They really need to talk and make up. Conversation is key to this Lois & Clark. So far, they have just been acting. It reminds me of a song, yes, I always have song.
It’s
The sound of silence by
Simon & Garfunkel.
And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence
"Fools", said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you"
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed
In the wells of silence
