Sorry it's taken me so long to respond to this. I'm trying to survive without internet until the company decides to hook me up, and it's not going so well.

I think I had actually put down 20 at one point. Maybe a bit of an arbitrary number, but that's what seemed to work at the time. *shrug*
I think Clark and Lois would want them to explore life after high school a bit before they got tied up with being a superhero. Of course, if you look at stories like The Forgotten, you can see why the kids would step up to the plate a little earlier.

You know, he kind of surprised me in being that mean. Funny how things like that happen sometimes.
Now that Jay has found a place and purpose for himself, he's really relaxed enough in his own skin to start helping Ellie with her issues.
So true. What's that old adage? It goes something like you can't really love someone unless you love yourself.
