I might get more FDK in the next few days, but I'd like to respond to you two today anyway.
Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it.
IntheAlias - I think pretending they were okay with Larry would be totally out of character for Lois and Clark.
Lois once said, "Hey, when I get upset, I shoot my mouth off," on the show. And she did. That's what she's doing here. Certainly 25 years and three kids would have softened her some, but not THAT much. Add to that and she's really hurt that Kiley kept something like this from them.
Clark, of course, tends to lose his temper less than Lois does/did, but Luthor's always got his dagger up. So that's what's happening here.
And I think Kiley would be a lot more hurt if Lois and Clark pretended to be okay with Larry while they investigated him behind her back.
But, yes, course, Kiley does feel incredibly hurt and toren between her parents and Larry, as illustrated in the last passage of this part.
Michael- Yes, that's exactly what they're doing here. But I think it's completely understandable given their histories with Luthors. (And not that I'm trying to point fingers or anything, but who kept wondering when Larry was going to spring Kryptonite on Kiley early in this story?)They haven't got to know him. They see the name and jump to conclusions.
