What a fun story. (I just read it on the archive, but decided to respond here. That way, if anyone reads only the MB and missed it the first time around, they'd get a second chance at it.) I enjoyed the misunderstandings.
I can just imagine Clark skating, and seeming to "fly" across the ice...
