He needs someone to give him a slap upside the head, make him look at himself and what he's doing to himself, and have him realize that he really does have a wonderful life (cf. the Capra film) and that he needs to stop poisoning himself and make the most of his gifts. Of course, his thinking is too twisted to go there... Great story so far. I'm eagerly awaiting further chapters.
