I wrestled with this last scene for quite a while... Lois stubbornly did not want to tell Clark she loved him. I just couldn't wrangle it out of them to get a lovey-dovey scene for the ending of this one. wink Hope you forgive me! I think it's more realistic that it would be the beginnings of love rather than full blown passion.

Adorable story.

Clark: “If we can be born in an instant, and die in an instant, why can’t we fall in love in an instant?”

Hi Mozartmaid,

I liked the ending. And a well-written beginnings of love story can be just as WAFFy as a full-blown passion scene; depending on the context, possibly even much moreso.

Of course, this does leave things wide open for a sequel. goofy

Very in-character for Lois not to be able to say that she loved him. I'm glad she stuck to her guns.

aww very nice ending! Enjoyed this fic a lot.

LOIS:I don't like you.
MAYSON: Really? Oh god, that is such a relief - I don't like you either.
LOIS: That makes me feel so much better

hee hee, I know you can't have it both ways, and I'm really glad Lois got a chance to process through some of her thoughts before she simply unleashed her fears/fury/etc. onto clark...
and i liked the interaction between the two of them, even as she's reconciling the 2 of them and expressing her concerns/confusion to clark, she's being honest/upfront... and yet smile i do miss the fireball lois, the one who might act first and regret later... (who knows what mischief she might've gotten herself into?)

great story/reveal though... look fwd to the sequel!

I think the ending is very well in character for Lois, especially considering this is season 1.

I, too, would also like a sequel to this one - your next story, the one with the preview - also seems great!

I love this entire story--probably the most heart-wrenching moment of all was when Clark asked Lois if she was disappointed that Superman was ‘only’ him. Ha! As if! Anyway, I love Lois’s thought processes as she tries to decide what to do about the revelation; it was a twist I hadn’t seen before. And I love how she recognizes the fact that Clark wants her to love him for himself and not the superhero. Anyway, thanks!
