Yay! I'm first!! Clark berated himself again for not looking for her last night. If only he hadn't made assumptions. If only he had asked the bartender before leaving last night. If only he hadn't left her there to begin with. He should have let the world get by on its own for just a few hours. He should have given that soft plea for help his full attention. This is both of their worst nightmare! That Clark wouldn't be there when she needed him! Because, he tortured himself, you were secretly glad for the reprieve from telling her your secret. Oooh! And isn't that just the heart of the matter?! How was it that he could hold his breath for nearly an hour, but a few kisses from Lois could leave him completely breathless? *Contented sigh* This is one of the many things I love about Superman. He's the most powerful man yet can be made vulnerable in the best way possible by a woman. "No. I was, uh, I was watching baseball." His mind whispered that he had been rounding second and headed for third base.
Reach for the moon, for even if you fail, you'll still land among the stars... and who knows? Maybe you'll meet Superman along the way.

His mind whispered that he had been rounding second and headed for third base. OH YEAH! That's what we love about Sue fic. The innuendos and Clark's inner monologue about flying her to Kansas on Saturday. More soon! Artemis "If the shoe drops, fit it!"

Yay! Part 2 has dropped. Two words that Clark uses a lot, both in this story and on the show. Part of what makes him so endearing -- That even someone as powerful as he still struggles with his limitations and regrets. Fine - he could work up a little fight if it meant making up afterward. :p How was it that he could hold his breath for nearly an hour, A minor correction -- somewhere on the show (I don't recall which episode) it was mentioned that he can hold his breath for 20 minutes. That's still a long time, but nowhere near an hour. I am amazed that I caught that, since I really was drawn into that part of the narrative... You write PG-13 prose exceptionally well. "No. I was, uh, I was watching baseball." His mind whispered that he had been rounding second and headed for third base. See! Didn't I promise you action on a couch and some nookie? And you fulfilled that promise quite well. Thanks! And there's still more to come! What's that? You still want to know what happened to Lois? Yes! Yes! Yes! It's in the next part, I promise. Thank you! And the next part will be posted...when, exactly? The sooner the better! Joy, Lynn

Had it been that close? Had she been out front while he was in the alley? Had she called out for him as they took her away? That'd be a yes, yes, and a yes you lunkhead! Fine - he could work up a little fight if it meant making up afterward. Fine by me as well. I personally think that Lois very much would like to be f.. err... finessed by Clark. V. sexy scene, if only Martha hadn't totally busted him. His mind whispered that he had been rounding second and headed for third base.
"Tell Lois I said 'hi'." Hee! Too bad he didn't listen to his mom and "work" on his other project. Now get your game face on Clark and go rescue her already... *eagerly awaiting more* Em

/shovels more post into FDK thread trying to get the folder to light up so Sue knows a new part is required/ Maybe when it's all done you'll look back and smile at the memory? I know I'll smile when I remember your Obi Wan "noooooo!" scream. Even in Metropolis on a Friday night, dragging an unconscious woman down the street might draw attention. You know, I suddenly got the strange image of two ne'er-do-wells each dragging their unconscious 'date' (to use the euphemism) down the street and nodding to each other while crossing paths. Why, why, why hadn't he checked last night before assuming that she had given up on him? Why hadn't it occurred to him that her car keys were still in his pocket? Because, he tortured himself, you were secretly glad for the reprieve from telling her your secret. Yes. So, will Lois be madder that he thought she's mad and tugged his tail between his legs or that he lied to her in the first place? "That won't work. You could have called him. Just be yourself," she instructed and started to climb the stairs again. "Act natural." Nookie, indeed He quickly sat up, his cheeks flushing guiltily. "No. I was, uh, I was watching baseball." His mind whispered that he had been rounding second and headed for third base.
"Tell Lois I said 'hi'." Michael, hoping you will keep this EoD at the worst

On the other hand, if Lois wasn't kidnapped for the purpose of sex, then what *was* she kidnapped for? And what's up with locking her in a dark room? And why hasn't she yelled for Superman yet? Not that I don't think she can handle it, but why do things the hard way?

There's nothing better than coming home after a very long day at work and seeing that the feedback fairy has come to visit. mozartmaid - Thank you for being first! I was starting to despair since I'd posted the story and, a few hours later when I checked before bed, there still wasn't a nibble. I agree with you completely about seeing Clark vulnerable because of Lois. There's more where that came from. DW - And, in return, you made my day so much better. Thank you! Artemis - Awwww! You write the nicest things. I'm glad you like the banter and the inner monologue because those were some of my favorite moments to write. Lynn - Clark has only begun to struggle with his limitations and regrets. The episode you're thinking of is "All Shook Up". That did enter into my calculations, but so did his claim at the end of "I'm Looking Through You" where Lois rhetorically asks him how long he can hold his breath and he replies (out of her earshot), "A very long time." I took dramatic license because it flows better to say "nearly an hour" than "twenty minutes". Emily - Yay! You came back! I laughed at the "f… er… finessed". That totally had not entered my mind, but it sure will when I read through the story again to edit for archiving. Michael - Your posts always crack me up! First I giggled at the "noooooooo!" all over again. And then I nearly choked on my drink at the mental image of two shadowy criminals nodding hello as they carried their hapless victims. Then you closed with all the bad, bad people. At least I'm in excellent company. Pam - Oh, it's so nice to see you here! Twice! I was immensely flattered to see that hours later you were still thinking about the story. I promise that there is more nookie to come. As to the whys and ifs, some of that is answered in the next part and all of it is answered by the end. If you think this is the hard way, you're gonna freak later. Evelyn - I've done a lot of terrible things to Lois. I've burned her with lit cigarettes and electroshocked her into a miscarriage and even broke the fingers of her left hand one by one, but I can't bring myself to violate her that way. Geez, though, looking back sure makes me feel guilty. I shall try to be nicer to her in the future. Thank you all for your comments. Let's keep those cards and letters coming!
Lois: You know, I have a funny feeling that you didn't tell me your biggest secret.
Clark: Well, just to put your little mind at ease, Lois, you're right. Ides of Metropolis

You still want to know what happened to Lois? It's in the next part, I promise. I KNOW WHAT HAPPENS! But I wouldn't give it away...not for a million dollars As you know I ADORED this part...Martha interruptus <snort> at its best. I just love the way you write LnC, very realistic--yet very different at the same time. <3 You can keep these guys waiting for part 3 but I want to see part 6 in my box yesterday

I mean, all I've ever done to her is... beat her unconscious, nearly kill her with a car bomb, trap her soul in a clone body... This could make a fun thread in fanfic related, actually. "How have *you* tortured Lois?" And/or Clark, but I think Yvonne would win that one PJ

Great start Sue! I love Clark conflicted over telling Lois he's Superman. And his mom interupting them was quite funny. Looks like Lois might have stuck her nose some place she wasn't supposed to.
Looking forward to more.

Poor Lois is probably pretty freaked out by now, all alone in the dark wishing the next part was posted so that she could be rescued (or at least make-out on the couch some with Clark).

Hmmm. That makes me wonder if Lois is sitting alone in the dark on the floor sipping her gallon of water and reminiscing about making out with Clark on his couch. Maybe she's even wondering what Clark's "project he hasn't started yet" is? More soon! Artemis

One thing I have been wondering all along -- Why popcorn? That strikes me as an odd choice of foods to give someone. Could it be a clue about where she is being held?

Ooo - so many interesting questions raised! Lola - Indeed you do know what happens. And I lol at "not for a million dollars". Pam - That sounds like a fabulous idea for a thread. I agree with you, no one can torture Clark like Yvonne. <sigh> I'm gonna have to go read "Addicted" or "Purity" again. Good thing there's a long weekend coming up. I know exactly how I'm going to spend it. Joan - Thank you! I'm delighted you enjoyed it. Emily and Artemis - Wait… were those hints? :p There is more couch action to come - unfortunately it's a few parts off (but I swear it's worth the wait). While I never overtly reference Lois reminiscing about Tuesday night on Clark's couch, I'll submit that she does and it wasn't included for length-of-story reasons. I know it's cruel, but I'm smiling at the image of a freaked-out Lois sipping her gallon jug of water. Maybe it's because that's not what's going to happen. Lynn - Why popcorn? Originally she had beef jerky too, but that was just too much to write and I'm lazy like that. It's popcorn because that's the largest bulk item of food that can be purchased at a convenience store when you're in a hurry. Thanks to everyone who has left feedback. Let's party down now and post the next part!
