Welcome to the boards!! Excellent first fic! I really enjoyed it! Between you and me, you got your own Superman right here. This is a brilliant line. Cause it's all about who Clark IS not what he DOES... that's what makes him so special. Hope to read more from you soon!
Reach for the moon, for even if you fail, you'll still land among the stars... and who knows? Maybe you'll meet Superman along the way.

A fabulous first effort! Have you written for other fandoms? This certainly doesn't seem like the work of a newbie. Lots of great emotion in this vignette, and you said so much with so few words. And a great low-drama revelation, to boot. Nice job. Welcome to the boards, Joan. We're happy to have you here. Kathy

Ooh, a new friend has come to play in our sandbox! A terrific vignette, and expertly written. I hope you'll be back. Meanwhile, if you like to read as well as write, you'll find tons of stories at the archives . You should submit this story there, too. Welcome! Happy
This *is* my happily ever after.

Nice! Really sweet, if you focus on the "comfort" part of the hurt/comfort dynamic So, the rifle-butt-to-the-face-knocked-unconscious thing... was that on purpose so that he could go change clothes? I wonder if it will ever dawn on Clark that she said he'd "returned" for her. That really wouldn't make sense if, from Lois's POV, he'd been unconscious in the other room and she'd been rescued by Superman. I can see it now. "Clark, you had to go save L.A.! I told you to go!" "But I still should have come back faster, or taken you out of there first or... uh, waitaminute, what did you say?" Lovely deer-in-headlights, or at least adorably confused look as he processes that she's figured him out and is two steps ahead of him. PJ

Thanks so much for all your kind feedback! It's nice to know that there are still lots of fans of "Lois and Clark" out there. I'm looking forward to chatting with everyone and reading fanfic too. You're correct, Kathy, I've written fanfic for other TV shows (anyone else a fan of Earth 2 or CSI?) I only recently rediscovered "Lois and Clark" watching it with my ten year old daughter via Netflix. That may have to change soon - she screams "Yuck!" loudly during the mushy parts. Thanks again! Joan

I hope I'm doing this right. That's one aspect I'm enjoying about "Lois and Clark". Clark isn't simply the bumbling front man for Superman. Joan

I figured he instinctively moved to protect Lois and got surprised by rifle butt then had to fake unconsciousness. You're right about the deer-in-headlights moment - Clark was so out of it he probably didn't realize he'd spilled the beans.

Welcome! I really enjoyed this fic. Don't you just love it when a new fandom grabs hold and the plot bunnies are ridiculous? I'm a fairly new fan myself. My 11 yr old daughter looooooves Lois and Clark, we got 'into' it together. I was also amazed at how active the fandom still is. I love it!!
LOIS:I don't like you. MAYSON: Really? Oh god, that is such a relief - I don't like you either. LOIS: That makes me feel so much better

Oooh, this was wonderful. I always loved the scene in "And the Answer Is..." where Superman calls to Lois. In fact, I always thought that a good re-write of ATAI would be one where Lois hears Clark calling her, wakes up to see Superman, and puts 2 and 2 together. This story is just the reverse... she hears Superman and wakes up to see Clark. Either way, it makes for a great revelation. Beautifully written; it was a very nice read. Well done.

A/N: I recently rediscovered “Lois and Clark – The New Adventures of Superman” via Netflix with my daughter. Hey, me too! Just finished S2 last night. (Who's asking Clark or Superman? -- Heee!) Yet Clark still didn’t look like himself.
He was wearing the same dark suit he’d donned the day of their latest caper. Yet it was badly wrinkled. The jacket had been tossed over the back of the chair with the edges of his brightly patterned tie sticking out of a pocket. His shirt collar was undone with the sleeves rolled back. A faint hint of beard framed his jawline. Is it wrong that in the midst of all this angst, I'm fairly drooling at the picture you've painted. V. sexy indeed. “Between you and me, you got your own Superman right here.” She nodded towards Clark. “This one’s a keeper. That man hasn’t left your side in days. Since you arrived.” Awh. I love the way you show Clark's vulnerability here. He's really been shaken to the core, and this one lapse let's Lois see enough to start putting things together. She nestled closer to him, feeling the uncharacteristic need to take care of him. Another "awwwwhh" moment. Love this reaction. Great first effort, hope to see more from you!

Welcome Joan! What a perfect vignette! It had all my favorite things in one deft part - flashbacks that lead to Lois figuring it out, Clark being sweet and tender, and snuggling. I look forward to many more stories from you.
Lois: You know, I have a funny feeling that you didn't tell me your biggest secret.
Clark: Well, just to put your little mind at ease, Lois, you're right. Ides of Metropolis
