Wonderful part, delightful cliffhanger. Hmm, I did read the Cat tale you cited and based on that and your remark Something in her smile made Clark wonder how much she already guessed. I assume Cat is going to help Lois get past the security and to Clark. I do hope you will start the next part with a flashback to the scene in Luthor's office. From He looked at Clark now and then, but he kept the gun on the woman.
Summoning the last of his strength, [Clark] waited for just the right moment, and he leaped. Well, he tried to leap. It was more of a stagger. In any case, it worked. There was a gunshot, a struggle, and that was it. It was over. it sounds like Clark set himself up to be shot. I assume Ms. Eskin toggled the switch to the security system allowing Pete and Mr. Eskin inside where they could deal with Luthor.

Wow... what a cliffhanger. I'm eagerly waiting to find out what will happen next! And that gunshot wound to the chest is a great way to keep any theories that CK=S away for a very, very long time

Very nice chapter. I've been enjoying your story. I like the original characters and twists on the cannon, and I enjoy how those twists work back in smoothly. Looking forward to more.

Awesome chapter and clever of Clark to get shot to cover his susceptibility to Kryptonite. Once he gets out of the office, he should begin to recover. But he needs to get transported by the EMTs to do that. Pete keeping him in the room isn't helping that part. I see several ways this could go, so I'm eager for the next part and the wrap up. Great story! Artemis

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I must admit that A-plot is not my strong suit, so I'm glad to see that it seems to be working, at least so far. Welcome, Gwen. We always love to have new readers. I hope you've also found the archives . An appointment got moved to Wednesday morning, so Part 31 may go up in the evening rather than my lunch time, but it will go up Wednesday. Stay tuned! Happy
