Missing Lois - TOC A taste of Chapter 4, Part 11: Lois swallowed. Her husband was so near, so dear and loving to her in the future, tears started streaming from her eyes. Clark stood up, his mouth hanging open.
She went straight to him, wrapping her arms around him. “I’m so sorry, Clark. I shouldn’t have run away from you like that. I was scared, so scared.” She pressed her lips to his. “I love you so much.” She kissed him again, but he was not kissing her back. He was just standing there, ramrod straight. “Please, forgive me. I could not live if you didn’t forgive me.”
“Lois?” Martha said and then raised her voice. “Lois Lane Luthor!”
Lois turned and glared at Martha. “That is not my name,” she growled.
“I know, sweetie, but I was trying to tell you. That’s not your Clark from your dimension. This is our son, Clark; he’s married to our Lois.” Many thanks to my wonderful Beta Readers. I apologize that parts 10 - 14 aren't as long as my usual posts. This is due to finding a place to stop between posts. Please forgive me. As always, any and all feedback is welcome. Thank you.

This is such a creative story. And I have to give you kudos for keeping everyone straight, when and where, and how time travel affects past, futures... oy, the mind boggles! But you pull it off brilliantly!
Reach for the moon, for even if you fail, you'll still land among the stars... and who knows? Maybe you'll meet Superman along the way.

Love Lois running into her future self. Oh no - I thought the curse had already been foiled too.
Your teaser for the next chapter looks exciting. Don't leave us hanging too long.

I still get confused over the various Loises and Clarks and I have the advantage of beta-ing the story and getting explanatory emails from Virginia! She's doing a great job of keeping everyone straight. Alt-world stories are always confusing. When you add time travel to the mix...

She pulled out her emergency phone card. She dialed the Daily Planet and got Lois. “Hi, Lois, it’s Martha. Can I talk with Clark?” Sneaky! She went back inside and pulled a box of Double Fudge Crunch Bars off the shelf, adding them to her basket. They really should start stashing it. She opened the door to the barn and noticed that it was dark, but not dark. Not dark from storm clouds, just dark. My first thought was: Did she pull a 'The Timemachine' and ended up 100.000 years in the future? Then I thought, why would the barn still be there, 100.000 years in the future? “Tell me what that letter means?” he continued.
Letter? What letter?
“Clark, please. You were never supposed to see that. You would be better off if you had let me burn it.” Huh. Did he see the letter about her boinking Alt-Clark to Kingdom-Come? “If Lara and I had died in the other dimension, because of the curse, I wanted you to know the truth. I owed you that much.” Did she write a letter feeling guilty about earlier mentioned indiscretion? That future Lois fell on her knees in the snow, crying. “I can’t, Clark. I can’t tell you.” Michael

MozartMaid: Thank you. Joan: Glad I'm keeping you on your toes. IolanthAlias: Thank you for your vote of confidence. Michael: Not many comments I can respond to without spoilers, but I'll try. First, yes, I've seen Dune. When the movie first came out. YEARS ago. Can't remember much. There was a desert, right? And a big sand worm? And people who had blue eyes? (And I've even read several of the books, trying to understand the movie better.) Sorry, it wasn't for me. No. Unless the tarp uses a different (possibly inferior?) technology from what Alan Morris whipped together in his basement a few years ago. I can't remember, can Superman's X-Ray vision see through the Invisable Man's suit? Lois Lost in Time (Title for Chapter Five?) Oooh. Wouldn't that have been scary? VERY Pregnant with Superman's child and lost in time! There's another story idea ripe for the stealing (because I'm not writing it). Also, it has a first-class escort service just up the stairs in the first floor. And here he thought it was a family-friendly restaurant. Huh. Herb must have gotten the cheep stuff. Because the expensive stuff is Superman-proof? Would there be a reason that Herb would need to hide from Superman (or his desendants)? Oh, right. It was his idea to bring Tempus into the past on a sight-seeing tour. Never mind. Umm... How could Martha help? And considering later parts: Duh! I'm itching to explain this! Lois explains how in Part 11 (is that too much of a spoiler?)

First, yes, I've seen Dune. Okay, so gist is, the Baron had a floating-belt and managed to float helplessly in the storm towards the end of the movie. Also, he had a far less generous explanation for the general shape of his midriff than Lois has. I can't remember, can Superman's X-Ray vision see through the Invisable Man's suit? Nope. Needed to dust the suit with phosphor. The 'scientists' said, it turned the invisibly reflected light from the suits into the visible spectrum, same as it is with florescent lamps. And here he thought it was a family-friendly restaurant. Nope. Only friendly towards family-making. Oh, right. It was his idea to bring Tempus into the past on a sight-seeing tour. Never mind.
