I think I might have to get the episodes and watch "Hercules" and "Xena" straight through. They sound like a lot of fun.
Besides, wasn't Sam Raimi involved somehow? He's one of my favorite movie directors.

Watch Herc season 1 first, then start Xena Season 1 while you watch Herc season 2. (Xena started with a trilogy of eps in late Herc season 1). Sam Raimi was indeed involved. He and friend Rob Tapert were the executive producers on the show, though Sam's involvement was probably pretty neglilable. Rob is the one who really drove the shows, even writing stories and directing episodes. Also, cyber high five. Sam Raimi is my film making idol.

Facing crisis after crisis for so many years has made her a bit cynical? Yes, but this is LnC-alone-time we're talking about here Michael

Yes, but this is LnC-alone-time we're talking about here Assuming there is a curse that Alti throws around. Not saying that she will or she won't... /looks around/ Okay, who of you timelords has switched Zeus this time? Zeus was a jerk, but a lot less of a jerk (on Herc and Xena) then just about any other god that we saw. I always liked the Anthony Quinn version much better than the big bearded man. I kinda liked the big bearded man. But all of the Zeus' were good. Well there was a big, flashy neon-sign right in the middle of the street... Never thought I'd hear that about one of my stories, but I'll take it. There's about to be a new flashy neon-sign, btw...

Ahh, I loved Aphrodite's comment about Lois and Clark's bond being the strongest she's ever seen. Again, I don't know much about Hercules/Xena, but I imagine it's hard trying to mesh together two different canons, so kudos on that. I'm not sure that taking all these gods to their house is such a good idea--wouldn't the bad guys be drawn to them while they're here? Clark is awfully kind to forgive them their heavy-handedness and snide comments to bring them into his own home (definitely something he would do), but I'm surprised Lois is as accepting. And Kevin Sorbo doesn't have enough money to spring for another hotel room or two? From the description of the gods always having a particular weakness that can kill them--and not being particularly righteous, omnipresent, omnipotent, or omniscient--I think that Clark actually is, for all intents and purposes to them, a god. After all, he has his own powers and strengths and even something of a theme (truth and justice and the American way), and he has a particular weakness to something green. LOL! I'm not saying Ares' is intentionally lying about Zeus making sure no one can touch Clark, but I just have to say that Superman could definitely go up against these gods and win, vulnerable to magic or not. He's taken down more than a few gods in his time! Maybe Zeus just has the publicity line to explain why he won't dare try and fight Clark! Like their reaction to technology.

Like their reaction to technology. Thanks, Anti-K! I thought that comment from Aphrodite might be something sweet to throw in, and be meaningful, since she is the goddess of love and all. Glad you liked it. Kevin would have the money, I just didn't want to stage it in a hotel suite. I thought it might be more fun to have a sleepover party at the Kent house. You have a good point about Clark being, for all intents and purposes, a god, or at least, god-like. I guess I'm so used to thinking of him as a humble human, thanks to the wonderful portrayal of Clark on LnC. (Which is why the LnC Clark is my favorite representation of the character.) Clark fighting the gods would be hilarious! But on Hercules, Zeus' decree about none of the gods being able to harm/kill Herc was very real. Cross that line and the god responsible would have become a greasy spot on the Grecian countryside. So from a writer's POV, the decree is made because Zeus likes Clark's work as Superman, and he knows that certain other gods would love to harm Clark. The only thing I changed from Herc's decree was that Zeus never added Herc's family under that decree. So in the very first episode of Herc, Hera throws down a giant fireball and kills Herc's wife and three kids. Glad you are enjoying it so far!
