Very nice. It seems the calm before the storm. Xena's ruminations are something that we should all think of - what if today were the last day of your life?
The tension is building up, and as Clark thinks, why would the gods send *four* heroes? That can't bode well.

Ooooh... /imagines Xena in the open convertible as Hercules goes a 100mph down the highway/ Clark figured that the house must look like a palace to the man. Well... Clark *is* a noble lord. On an unrelated note, do they get live video down in the Fields? So, no ordering from Golden Ralph's Pagoda? What could he possibly pick up that the three ancient Greeks, unfamiliar with the modern world, might like? A double-cheese WanTan Pizza with a side of fries? "The future is pretty cool. One of these things would have come in really handy all those times we had to go into deep, dark caves to slay monsters, eh Herc?" Also, a Gatling-gun or an RPG... "Worse than the Hydra? Clark *is* a noble lord. Well, he's not one to brag...  So, no ordering from Golden Ralph's Pagoda? Or his line of frozen, microwavable dinners. It's just country folk that were caught by Sony company and shrunk so us noble city folk can enjoy a nice entertainment each day. The modern TVs don't even require regular feeding. You just switch them out for new ones when too many of them have died off... Those poor folks get killed when their shows go off the air... *not shown - Xena then bouncing off the walls* So, they converted the two extra bedrooms into the kids' rooms? Precisely. *guards hard drive even more protectively.* Hmm... wonders about Clark's lifeforce...  Getting a young Kent #4 on the way? Yes, because when faced with death, sex is always the thing to do.  Thanks for stopping in!

So, *that's* why she's always been jumping around between walls and peoples' torsos. See? There is *always* a reason for things. Hmm...And yet, they only have three kids... They are the Kent family...not the Duggar family.

Nice in-between chapter, though like the heroes, I'm waiting for what will come next. Hoping it will be soon.
Liked the others' reactions to Clark's casual display of power. More and more I'm thinking the parallels between him and the generalities of gods are going to come in somewhere. And surely Lois can keep his soul safe, can't she? I mean, they are soulmates, and it's not like she'd be willing to let him go in the least! The kids might help, too?

The kids will be back, I promise you. Glad you liked the calm before the storm. The parallels between Clark and the gods doesn't really come into play, only because I didn't really even realize that until you pointed it out. As for his life and soul...well, you'll see. But Clark's powers are definitely going to come in handy...
