Nicely done, Virginia! I loved all the little moments in this! For me, great stories are found in the details -- that little glimpse into the mundane that makes it sublime. Lois' impatience as she waits for her coffee set to her conversation with Clark is perfect example of this. I could see it all in my mind and it was making me grin. And then I just kept grinning because there are few things I love so well as having a subtle double meaning to whatever Clark is saying and/or Lois talking about Superman to Clark. I loved her realization that Lex was all show and that Clark was the one proving his devotion through countless little niceties.
Lois: You know, I have a funny feeling that you didn't tell me your biggest secret.
Clark: Well, just to put your little mind at ease, Lois, you're right. Ides of Metropolis

I knew it! I knew it! You're not Michael. You're Tempus in disguise. It was the sarcasm and love of irony that gave you away! And that app on your smartphone. But...But...But I'm such a darn nice guy! He can do that! [Wink] Oh, that's right, he wants her to love him without the suit... I mean, as Clark. Clothed. Well, actually... [Embarrassed] Never mind. Michael

Yeah. <<gets warm tingley feeling>> That Michael really is a darn nice guy. <<smiles contentedly>> Although Superman might object to strange tubes being inserted into his body. Good thing he's invulnerable. (I'm not going to go to the obvious "strange tubes" joke...) So, no pressure then when Labby asks for stories to be submitted the next time, huh? Nah. I'm caught up after I submit this one.

Ken: Thanks, but this is just a stand-alone episode rewrite. My alt-tale starts posting in April.
