Christina: Me? Easter eggs -- as in subtle hints -- hidden in my story? <<bats eyelashes innocently>> Never!
Thomas instead of Wayne. At first I was thinking Wayne was dead and therefore Trask still ended up visiting them. Now I'm not so sure on that. And Martha's response is closer to what I would have expected of a mama grizzly protecting her (sadly at this moment non-existent) super son.
Thomas is the younger of Wayne Irig's two sons (in my story); the older one was Walter, who was Clark's age. The "dad" Thomas is referring to, of course, is Wayne Irig. Since no Superman, no reason for Trask to go to Smallville to search for something that would kill him.
Methinks they had a visit from Project BlueBook in the past and Martha thinks Lois is part of those Bureau 39 folks.
In canon M&J are visited by government folk looking for a 'downed Russian satalite'. Kal-El living or dying would not change that part of history. M&J didn't trust them in canon, why would they trust them here?
Yup, Martha cares for the child who never was/once was as if it was a miscarried child of her own. How much do you wanna bet she had a number of miscarriages in her past to make this gravesite significant to her?
I don't know about that, but the baby Kal-El was as close to their own child that M&J got. I could see her still caring and loving it for the rest of her life, because she would hate to think of it as abandoned, either in life or death.
It's too bad Martha couldn't have heard Lois' inner thoughts at this moment because she would have found out how much closer they could be over this situation.
Missed opportunities.
I love this little moment.
Thank you.
So many questions, Lois and until you unravel the mystery of Superman you will have even fewer answers.
At this point in time, she still considers Superman a figment of her imagination. I mean, come on, a man who flies, has super strength, and is sweet, loving, caring, and understanding, such a man must be one of fantasy.
