Grrrrr! Wayne Irig is so stupid! Why did he send the sample to Witchita???

Great part, Pam! I am anxiously waiting for part 6!

Cool! I just love Fierce!Martha. The dialogue between the two women was wonderful. Can't wait for more!

Yay! More J!! smile1

And this continues to be terrific. Loving it lots! I really liked the Lois/Martha conversation - it makes a change for them not to love one another on first sight. goofy This in particular made me LOL:

Quote
"You're dating?" Martha repeated, looking astonished. Then she shocked Lois by adding, "Oh, that's wonderful!"

Lois started to worry that Clark's mother had more than a few screws loose. "Okay, why is it wonderful, considering that you hate me?"
rotflol

Martha's complete volte-face once she realised that Lois and Clark were dating... it's no wonder that Lois thought she was crazy!

Great work finding the green crystal... but Wayne's sent it to Wichita! wildguy

Why do I see Martha as a typical mother-in-law in the first part? smile1

Lois may well kill Wayne Irig... and I suspect many a FoLC would be prepared to hold him down while she does it! mad

Lovely stuff, Pam. More, please.

More ASAP, please.

Nice conversation between the ladies.

I can see Martha being protective and Lois being prickly because she expected to be disliked.

Sent a sample off the Wichita, eh? WHAMS AHEAD!

Wow this is a different side of Martha. I'm not sure Lois would be so forgiving so quickly. But I am glad they seemed to have moved on. Laura

Aarrggghhhh!!!! Forget everything I said in the last part. Wayne did send it to Wichita. Uh oh. That means Trask is on his way. Bad news. GGGoH is repeating itself. You're evil, Pam!

Judging by the older woman's tone, she hadn't much cared for what she'd heard. Lois felt her stomach tense -- she'd just known that Clark's parents would hate her.

"I wouldn't have expected to see you anywhere around my son outside of work hours," she observed coolly.
Ooh. They really did get off on the wrong foot. But at least they got by it and tentatively like each other now.

"By the way, yes, I know Clark is Superman, and no, I don't have any plans to use that knowledge against him. I work with him, I'm dating him, and... we're just going to see where that goes."
Good to see Lois doesn't make the same mistake twice. She got everything out in the open right away so Jonathan likes her right away.

Can I say "Aaarrrrgggghhhh!!!!!!" again?

But hey, what's a story without a few WHAMs? /me is now waiting impatiently for the next part. thumbsup

What a great, great story, Pam. I read all five parts last night and was so blown away with it I couldn't respond right away. wave

Lois: Well, I like my quirks. I think they make me unique.
Clark: You certainly are unique.

Clark: You're high maintenance, you know that?
Lois: But I'm worth it!

Hello, everyone... enjoying the ride, are we? <g>

Laura, Wayne's not stupid -- he's interested in science, and the pursuit of knowlege... he just hasn't any idea what he's stumbled across.

Hey, Joy! Fierce!Martha? lol She's all Kathy Brown's fault, tho... I set up the situation, but Kathy's the one who pointed out that Martha would be very protective... they'll laugh about it, someday wink

Thanks for pointing out that line, Wendy, that's one of my favorites smile And this part is your fault, too, in a way... about the time I was planning this story, you were posting a Lois/Martha first meeting, in WLMC, I think, and you did such a lovely job that I didn't even want to try to compete... so, if I can't make things any *nicer,* then the alternative is... evil

Jose, well... Martha wasn't possessive about Clark, just protective... but it sure didn't seem much better, did it?

Hi Phil! Hey, don't blame poor Wayne, he's just trying to keep up with the times and find out what's in his local environment...

Thanks, Maria. Yes, Trask is bad news. But forewarned is forearmed, and all that.

Glad you approve, Tank <g> No comment on upcoming WHAMs, except to regretfully inform you that Lois will not be getting a haircut. She'll be much too busy.

Laura, I think Lois is starting to completely understand the urge to protect Clark against all comers, especially when he's, ahem, under the weather wink

Hello again, Roger <g>

I love the way everyone seems to know where this story is going... just keep in mind that I hate being predictable wink

Thanks for the comment about Lois and Jonathan, though, I liked that part myself. Jonathan doesn't get nearly enough to do in fanfic, IMO.

Hey, Ursie! Welcome to the party <g>

And thanks, Tricia, you're a very faithful commenter! Hang on, the next part will be posted shortly.
