Wow!!! I'm really stunned!
Thank you all so much for your comments. I really wasn't sure if people would like this - it's not really your usual Christmas story.
But I'm glad that you do.
I've loved reading your comments and speculation as to what might come next - especially this, from Meclone2:
This is a Christmas story, so I'd expect a happy ending. However, I can't exactly see how alt-Lois can go from an obsessed-with-work, almost-fatally-injured, practically-a-spinster reporter, to the warm and loving woman/reporter/partner that alt-Clark hopes to marry in 2 instalments. Getting to know Clark "Superman" Kent (a virtual stranger), recovering from injuries, resolving trust-in-men issues, and catching up on 4 years, etc. Unless you're talking about 2 very long instalments
But I'm saying nothing!
Partly, of course, because I don't want to give away the plot, but mainly because I am currently being nagged and threatened on IRC by a person or persons who shall remain nameless (hintaviahint) to post part two
