Although there are differences in the universes Alt 1 is still essentially the same as the one created when Clark saved Lois in the Congo which we explored in Volume 3.
The difference here are the Lois involved and the actual timing.
In this universe it is a different Lois, one that can cook but is offering to step aside and allow Lana to show her prowess whereas in the other universe Lois couldn't cook to save her life. :p
In this one Lana had broken off the engagement more than a year earlier in the other they weren't engaged as yet and she was blindsided by a stranger showing up and taking away the boyfriend she was intending to marry. Remember, she had never met Lois before.
