Experience reading Female Hawk stories? We know she can go dark, but that she'll safely bring us back out into the light by the end.... right?
Absolutely she does. smile But she's also talented enough that the "left hooks" are set up properly and not dropped out the sky. We've seen the darkness in Clark's life so far in this story -- no question about that -- but all we've heard from Lois is how these people instantly welcomed her and cared for her and how, even if she were given the opportunity to leave, she wouldn't take it. She even warned Clark (paraphrasing) that they didn't know about evil and betrayal, so please not to teach it to them. That's why expectations that they'd turn on her just as quickly surprised me; I haven't seen support for that theory in the story and wondered what you were seeing that I wasn't. smile

I just want Clark to stay, and I am not sure he will... I think the only way Lois would leave Didi is if she is ostracized from the tribe somehow, which is what I thought was happening with the untranslated dialogue. I at first thought perhaps something had happened to Didi, making her irrelevant to the tribe. But when she spoke at the end, I knew it couldn't be something as serious as that....

I also hope the marriage is in name only, as a sort of protection, but we'll see...

And I don't see a motivation for Lois to leave with Clark or even just follow him as of yet, which is actually a good thing -- it means you're doing a stellar job laying out the crumbs (we know they like each other and have connected) but not showing us what direction you are going in.

Can't wait for the next part!! hyper
I think emoionally Clark needs to stay past the quarantine. I am worried he will run off know, but it really does not make sense.

I don't see lois leaving with Clark at the end of the quarantine time. What might happen further in the future I cannot say, but at that point if Clark leaves, he would go alone.

Kathy Hi, Kathy. How nice to hear from you. I'm glad you're enjoying this story.

Kate I came back fairly quickly cool

And your guess was very close!

Mel It's lovely to hear from you, too, Mel. Sorry, for now it's one part a week.

Virginia You have enough ideas there for several stories!

He added her as a wife so that she would have his protection.
This is not confirmation or denial, but I find it interesting that many people have wondered if Lois is Matymbou's only wife.

Diddi is alive an in good care, or else Lois would have burst through that gate and been at his side. She may not be exactly the Lois we know, but she's *a* Lois, and she's Diddi's mother. The only thing that might stop her is concern for everyone else's safety, but she knows there's no danger that warrants quarantine.
Very good points.

Bob I like what you say about this Clark. For a variety of reasons, he isn't as confident as canon-Clark.

Clark's struggles are not just because of Lana's betrayal, they are really the result of all that came before that.
Very true.

Matymbou is telling her that Diddi was injured, but being taken care of (by Azalie and Gislane?) and will be fine.
Azalie isn't a person, it's part of the verb, 'to be'. laugh 'Ozali?' means 'How are you?' 'Azalie' means 'He is'. (As far as I can ascertain. wink )

However, as you noted further down, you did a great job of predicting the meaning of Lois's conversation with Matymbou. clap

And you picked the 'safety net', too!

John On Clark leaving ... perhaps it's my job as the writer to keep on giving him reasons to stay wink

SJH Interesting idea.

Laura I *think* Lingala is still used, but it's certainly one of the lesser known languages.

Particularly as she would be going back to Tempus's non-Utopia.

UW Lois was angry because she felt she wasn't getting a reasonable answer from Matymbou.

His resolution is weakening. His mind tells him he has to be alone, but his subconscious is conjecturing what it would be like if he stayed.
Yep. laugh

If I could write two parts a week, you'd be getting two parts a week. It's not going to happen any time soon. Sorry.

I enjoyed reading the speculation and counter-speculation. Nicely done!

Thanks to everyone for the comments.

Corrina.
