The only believable way to me this story ends with Clark and Lois as couple or still friends is if HG Wells shows up and goes back in time to stop Lois from writing the story.
Hmmm...I hope that's not how it ends. Dallas "It was just a dream!" do-over.
It shouldn't be that easy - a story with this emotional weight should have to realistically deal with the consequences. BTW...no spoilers here - I haven't had the opportunity to beta the ending yet (though I'm waiting VERY IMPATIENTLY for it! LOL).
