This response is woefully late — I hit a figurative brick wall for the next chapter in "Terms," then started writing "A Million Little Pieces" on a whim. Bad editor, I know.
Still, better late than never, at least I hope! I have to thank you guys for your infinite patience, and for such amazing feedback!
Ann, your FDK is priceless as always. And I *did* struggle with the choice of song lyrics for what felt like ever — I so so so wanted the lines from "Adia" to reflect how Lois actually saves Clark from his (pardon the pun) alienation and loneliness, and shows him what an amazing person he is, even in spite of (or perhaps because of) his faults. And you're exactly right — before, it was more like those lyrics were from Clark to Lois. So, after much mental debate and waffling, I changed them in this chapter and have used the "Adia" lyrics in part four. Eep, that was definitely a tangent, sorry! The point is, thank you for all your incredible comments, and I'm so glad you're enjoying this story!
Maria, thank you so much! I'm so sorry it's taken me the better part of three weeks to post this next chapter.
And Tank, what an unexpected surprise! Thanks for reading, and for your comments. I've been debating on a WHAM for the last chapter for a while now, and am almost a little scared to start writing the final part for that very reason.
Shadow, I'm so glad you've been enjoying this series! Thanks for reading, and for your lovely comments.
TVNerd, thanks for the kind words! I'm not familiar with Diana Gabaldon's work, but that's exactly the kind of effect I was hoping for! I'll definitely have to check out the "Outlander" series on Amazon.
Again, thank you all for reading, and for your comments!
