Wow, you definitely have the chilling introduction to this chapter nailed!
His descriptions of how it feels be chained by that collar, both in a previous chapter to Lois and to Bruce in this one, paint vivid pictures with words. And his frustration seems to be moderating. Perhaps he's maturing, away from Lex's reach? [Hey, I can hope!]
