Well, that's the reason I wanted to write it.
I got this idea after reading a fanfic of another fandom with not the same/similar premise, but after reading this one I thought "What if someone Tasks Clark with stopping Lois from hanging over the jaws of death?"
Thinking about Sam Lanes backstory in other media, he was an easy choice.
And so the fic was Born.
