They're getting along so well. Of course Martha's willing to watch her grandkids for the evening - and maybe until morning, too. Lois proved that she trusted him not to hover. Clark proved that while he was ready to be there instantly, he isn't hovering. They're coming to an agreement as to how and when to tell Mattie about Superman. And they're in agreement in not trying to rush the reconciliation. Things are moving so smoothly...
It can't possibly last.
Lois has to realize that too much time has passed, too much pain has been inflicted, too much separation has pulled them apart for the two of them to get back to where they were at the beginning. They're going to have to build a new relationship, one that includes the kids and gives them a voice in how things go. They'll go through the same adjustments and bumps and bruises and yelling matches and tears that any man and woman with two children would experience in melding their lives together. What you've given us is very promising - and very welcome - but it's not the resolution. It can't be, not yet.
And not just because you have so many more chapters left to post. So where's the next one?
And the one after that?
